The fate of 3,000 beagles bred for experimentation is in doubt as this podcast reaches the public.
Envigo, a multi-million dollar supplier of dogs for lab experimentation worldwide, is accused of violations under the Animal Welfare Act after a PETA undercover investigation exposed horrible conditions at Envigo's Virginia facility.
The Department of Justice has sought to close down the facility. But Envigo wants to sell off its remaining 3,000 dogs to labs for experimentation first.
Daphna Nachminovich, PETA Sr. VP for Animal Cruelty explains why that's unacceptable. She wants animal lovers to join PETA in forcing Envigo to give up all the dogs to safe and caring homes.
