Prof Ni Cheallaigh explains that we know poverty kills people, and due to psycho social factors the impact of stress, where life control is absent, leads to worse health outcomes, and this is visible for COVID patients who are from vulnerable or disadvantaged backgrounds. She makes the case for a need to really stop stigmatising those with vulnerabilities, such as homeless and addiction, to engage in systemic thinking, and to adopt a Zero Covid strategy to beat the virus.
