Life is meant to be lived in the slipstream—the place where your actions and God's will sync up. This is the place where the work you get done is happening through surrender and no significant effort of your own. Evan and Liz Frerichs have been talking all week about how surrender is the entry to the slipstream, and today we cover practical ways to do just that.

The struggle is real, and it's mostly inside of you. Surrender gets that struggle out into the open where God can do His work. When you refuse to let go of a problem, you are guaranteed to crash and burn. Evan and Liz Frerichs challenge you to ask someone close to you what vices you may use to avoid true surrender.

It's too easy to treat a mistake as a roadblock. When progress comes to a grinding halt, it's really difficult to get moving again. Part of surrender is trusting God is big enough to handle our mistakes. Evan and Liz Frerichs also talk about how running 100 MPH on the hamster wheel of life may look impressive, but it doesn't get you anywhere, certainly not to the adventure God set up in advance for you to do.

Both control freaks like Liz and people eager to trust like Evan will find today's episode challenging. You may only want to surrender when the results are a sure thing, but that's not really surrender. We talk today about the importance of giving up control to God—where all the control is anyway. Surrender is aligning our mind and will with reality.

Everyone you know will let you down at some point, so why is surrender so important? Mistrust is a cultural mindset, and it's going to take practice to overcome that and believe something else. Is it safe to trust anyone again? Even more important, is it safe to trust God? Evan and Liz Frerichs discuss the work of surrender our 31st episode of Epic Every Day.

The fullest expression of humanity is a human being in relationship with their Creator. And God promises peace to those who know Him. There isn't another brand of peace out there that compares. Today, Evan and Liz Frerichs talk about how good it is to be in the family of God and how that is the source of true peace/calm.

We learned in school that looking at someone else's work is cheating. In life, you can also get yourself into trouble comparing yourself to others. The nice thing about the Christian life is our individual value to God and His individual goals for each one of us. Today Evan and Liz Frerichs talk about ways to most effectively do the things God thinks are important.

This episode is for those of you who don't have time for peace. It's desirable to learn something once and then be set for life. It is discouraging to find that as you get older, some of the things you learned may need to be re-learned or honed. There are a thousand demands on your time. You might be too stressed to handle your stress.

Denial is so seductive. We all want to live in a world where everything is ordered and nice. But that's not the real world. As Christians, we're called to live in reality—the world God made. And it's a stressful place, but we can make it even more stressful if we insist on living in the past or worrying about the future. These attitudes steal our calm.
