  • Will There Be Any Unforeseen Circumstances?

Starting this Podcast has been a major challenge—learning how to set up all the internet stuff took months! Evan and Liz Frerichs discuss ways to deal with setbacks and how they tend to pile up like a snowball. But getting out of balance is normal and it's an opportunity to use the CSCs (being calm, surrendered, centered, connected, & complete) to get back in balance.

  • You Can't Solve Your Hang-ups on a Desert Island

Christianity is a community sport and that stands in stark contrast to American individualism—one of the big idols in western culture. Why is it so easy to isolate even when we know that's the recipe for loneliness? Evan and Liz Frerichs discuss the barriers to joining a new group like fear of rejection, being too busy and aversion to risk taking. We also introduce the idea of the Slipstream—the art and science of moving inside the will of God.

  • You Can't Find Yourself on a Plateau

God designed us to live out of the essence of who we are—and that identity starts with being a child of God. We spend so much time trying to figure out who we are when that's just a snapshot, true for this moment in time only. Evan and Liz Frerichs talk about how the better question to ask is "Who has God created me to be?"

  • The Verge: Living on Empty

Connecting takes work and when you're on the verge, there's no time or energy left to spend time. Why don't we prioritize relationships? What about your relationship with God? Evan and Liz Frerichs discuss our default priority systems and how they create a perfect storm of verge life—but there has to be a better way!

  • The Verge: Where Goals go to Die

The verge is the verge of collapse. It's being in rush-mode, doing whatever the next thing is despite being so overwhelmed I don't know what the next thing is supposed to be. It's a place where we're so stressed we're forced to shut down or self-medicate. It's a place where there's no room for proactive goalsetting. Join us (Evan & Liz Frerichs) as we talk about how being centered can get you back off the verge.

  • The Verge: Keep Pulling on Those Bootstraps

Whether you like it or not, you are surrendered to a system. If you're not intentional, you're surrendered to the hectic, fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants system of our culture. It seems like the default, but it's still a choice. Join us (Evan & Liz Frerichs) as we talk about surrendering to another way even when slowing down seems counterintuitive.

  • The Verge: Danger! No Stopping!

How scary is it to slow down? It's too easy to get locked into "Fireman Mode" where you're just putting out fires—who has time to set priorities or listen to God about His agenda?! When we live on the verge, we're living out of lack and fear, and that's a stressful place to be. Join us (Evan & Liz Frerichs) as we talk about how to inject calm into the verge.

About Epic Every Day

From the publisher's feed

We live in a world of overwhelm—not enough time, not enough energy, not enough money... the list of not-enoughness could go on and on. Most of us can only dream of finding margin. Most of us struggle to have time, energy, etc. to really fulfill God's calling in our lives, to be the people He's designed us to be. Without changing how we live, we will never find margin to thrive.
