For episode #58 of the Flatirons Syndicate Motorsports Podcast, Jon, Scotty, Ryan, and Tasso have a question that we have talked about amongst ourselves a fair amount here at the shop, and we decided to throw the question to a Podcast.
If you had a budget of $50,000 and you had to buy a car, build it for a series, and race for a season, what would you buy, and what type of racing would you do?
Now, full disclosure, none of us has or has ever had $50,000 to play with, but since we wanted to talk about buying and building a car, this seemed to be a reasonable place to start.
The underlying goal of this topic is to have a good discussion of how you use your budget, how you pick the car and class, etc., and that is exactly what we had here. It was definitely clear that with all of the experience that Ryan, Tasso, and Scotty have had building their cars, and keeping them running for a season, there are a lot of good lessons that they would apply to this type of scenario.
