Jon, Scotty, and Dussex chat with Thomas Smith who took 3 in Street Class at Super Lap Battle, and had the fastest Subaru on track that weekend.

Even though we were largely focused on our car during Super Lap Battle, we did have a chance to talk a little with Thomas, and see him put down some fast laps.  Looking at the car, and hearing a bit about his build, we knew that we wanted to get him on the podcast to have a chat about the path that his car took to get to the point where it is.

At Super Lap Battle 2022, Thomas set a new AWD record time in Street class in his STI, and took 3 overall in street.  His time of 2:19.879 is actually just about  a second behind the Subaru record time of 2:18.9 held by Dan Kroll of DPK Racing.  And that is on 200 treadwear street tires.

We had a fantastic conversation with Thomas about how he got involved in motorsports, all the different racing that he has done from Auto-Cross to wheel-to-wheel racing and of course about his history with Time Attack.
