LISA DOGGETT, a family physician and writer based in Austin, Texas, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2009. She is passionate about improving care for vulnerable populations and helping people with MS and other chronic conditions live their best lives. She recently joined the MS and Neuroimmunology Center at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School as a primary care and lifestyle medicine physician. Doggett is the author of a new memoir, Up the Down Escalator: Medicine, Motherhood, and Multiple Sclerosis.
