Currently, she holds the portfolios of the Ministry of Women and Child Development and Minority Affairs in PM Modi's cabinet. Smriti is known for not mincing her words when expressing her thoughts. After facing numerous struggles in Mumbai and trying various jobs, she entered the world of pageants, becoming a finalist in Miss India 1998.
She gained fame with the role of 'Tulsi' in the daily soap "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi." In 2003, Smriti joined the BJP, making her mark in politics.
