For decades Texas A&M University held the tradition of burning the annual Aggie bonfire the night before their rivalry football game with University of Texas. The bonfire was made into an enormous wedding cake like structure and was entirely constructed by students in the months leading up to the game. However on November 18th of 1999, students were putting the finishing touches on their beloved bonfire when the structure unexpectedly jolted and fell to the ground.
