In 1973, a new term would be coined that perplexed people around the world. The term was coined after a bank robbery in Sweden snowballed into a 6 day standoff involving 4 hostages. The hostages were all released unharmed, and they refused to testify against their captors in court. Additionally, the victims seemingly showed adoration for their captors, and hostility against police.
