Recorded in 1993, UC Irvine Professor Roxanne Cohen Silver and Case Western Professor Roy F. Baumeister examine the ways in which victims are affected by the traumas which befall them. It is suggested that trauma’s real impact is not primarily the event itself, but the degree to which the victim’s beliefs are challenged by the trauma.
