Denise Byers is a critically acclaimed award-winning author and award winning poet with 30 years of experience as a professional writer in communications, marketing, and public affairs.
Following her dream of writing books instead of press releases, Denise wrote a children’s book, titled Princess Lydia and the Fire Breathing Dragon, which won a Bronze Character-Building Counts (CBC) Book Award.
Denise’s stunning first poetry book, Shattered, documents her decades long journey with mental illness and garnered a Book Excellence Award. As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, chronic pain, and more. Denise’s primary focus is to create and publish works that send educational messages of resiliency, empowerment and acceptance, all while entertaining readers.
Denise co-founded DanDeeLion Publishing with her daughter, Danielle Gray.
Denise graduated York University with her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology.
Denise and her family reside in the Greater Toronto Area in Ontario Canada.
