It is a finalist for the 2017 National Book Award and the Kirkus Prize, and the winner of the Bard Fiction Prize. Her memoir "House in Indiana" is forthcoming in 2019 from Graywolf Press. Machado holds an MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and lives in Philadelphia with her wife.
