Ric Lansing is not a villain in the traditional sense. He is a man who genuinely loves someone and somehow manages to find new ways to ruin it.
Part Two picks up in March 2014 when Ric walks back into Port Charles after a ten-year absence, straight into Elizabeth's orbit. There are roses. There is a candlelit dinner booked under the name Barney Rubble. There is a violinist. And then Anna Devane kicks the door in with a search warrant.
What follows involves a faked death, witness protection, a man with no memory living in Liz's spare room, and an elaborate scheme that Ric cooked up involving a hired actress, a blackmailing accomplice named Pete, and a completely fabricated marriage. Carly — yes, Carly — is the one who unravels the whole thing, and she does it on the Nurses' Ball stage in front of everyone.
Liz slaps him. It is deserved.
We also cover where things stand heading into Part Three, and why the Nina situation the very next day remains one of the more stunning pivots in this entire storyline.
