ျမန္မာႏုိင္ငံရဲ႕ ႏုိင္ငံေရးက႑မွာ အမ်ိဳးသမီးေတြ ပါ၀င္မႈက သိသိသာသာ နည္းပါးေနဆဲပါ။ ၿပီးခဲ့တဲ့ႏွစ္က ထုတ္ျပန္ထားတဲ့ အစီရင္ခံစာအရ ၂၀၁၈ ၾကားျဖတ္ေရြးေကာက္ပြဲမွာ အမ်ိဳးသမီးကုိယ္စားလွယ္ေလာင္း ပါ၀င္မႈဟာ ယွဥ္ၿပိဳင္တဲ့ကုိယ္စားလွယ္ စုစုေပါင္းအေရအတြက္နဲ႔ ႏိႈင္းယွဥ္ရင္ ၁၀ ရာခိုင္ႏႈန္းေအာက္မွာ ရွိတယ္လုိ႔ ဆိုပါတယ္။ ဒီတစ္ပတ္မွာေတာ့ မိတ္ဖက္မီဒီယာျဖစ္တဲ့ Mon News Agency နဲ႔ ဒုိ႔အသံတုိ႔ဟာ ျမန္မာႏုိင္ငံ အေရွ႕ေတာင္ဘက္ေဒသက ႏုိင္ငံေရးလုပ္ေဆာင္ေနတဲ့ အမ်ိဳးသမီးတစ္ခ်ိဳ႕နဲ႔ စကားေျပာခဲ့ၿပီး အမ်ိဳးသမီးေတြ တက္တက္ႂကြႂကြပုိမိုပါ၀င္လာႏုိင္ဖို႔ ဘယ္လုိေတြအားေပးေနၾကသလဲ ဆုိတာကို ေမးျမန္းခဲ့ပါတယ္။

Across Myanmar, female involvement in politics remains strikingly low, with one report published last year finding that the number of female candidates running in the 2018 by-elections was less than 10 percent of the total.
