This case stems from a February 2010 criminal investigation into Online Solicitation of a Minor investigation which began inside a Yahoo Chat Room which lasted approximately 4 months while using the persona of a 13yo female child looking for “cool friends” and resulted in being contacted by 54-year-old Ricky CAIN (pseudonym). CAIN proved to be a semi dominate though very passive individual adamant to “teach” me the ways of the world. 

My memories of this case are MANY; and included a few “firsts” for me… relating to things I was “told” during my training to certainly expect; by those much wiser and experienced than I; and who paved the path I travelled as a new ICAC investigator. While I was “shocked” at some of these events, it did provide some insight into not only CAIN as an individual; but more into the depravity of offenders who are actively seeking this from children.
