Darrell Wordelmann has been the face of Rooney’s Oceanfront Restaurant for the last 27 years, and he loves the mental and physical challenge that the restaurant business brings. 

He grew up in a house where his mother had Progressive MS. Because of this, Darrell has been an advocate for Multiple Sclerosis for over 20 years, before receiving his own diagnosis in 2020.

In the first part of a two-part interview, Darrell talks about growing up in a house where he and his brother had to care for his mother, his life running a busy restaurant, and his own diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis.

Single Parents with MS, a 501(c)(3) organization, helps single parents with MS who are experiencing financial hardships. Support may range from Christmas gifts, purchasing ADA equipment, widening a doorway within a home, or helping keep the lights on during a difficult time. Anything to alleviate some of the stress that comes with MS and being a single parent.
