We joke a lot on the main show about the fact that we live on the east coast of NC and it is pancake flat. BUT, we do have a race that is about 4 hours away from us that is anything but flat. The Beast of the East 100 takes place in King Mountain, NC and runs the entire trail system of Crowder's Mountain. The 100 miler is a looped course of roughly 25 miles each loop and has a total elevation gain and loss of over 19,000 feet.

The course is trails, with some fire roads, and can be pretty technical at times. Richard Abernathy is the Race Director for the Beast of the East 100 and we sat down with him to get some info about the race for you. So take a few minutes and enjoy the episode.
