Today I want to talk about the covert narcissist that I know. It took years for me to realize what she was. The signs were there, but she was very likable and appeared to be humble. She appeared to be quite the humanitarian and I was impressed. It wasn’t until a few months ago that I saw her mask come off for the first time. That’s when things started to make sense and I understood why what I saw in her life didn’t match what she would say. That’s when I could see what was really going on in her romantic relationships. Friends very rarely, if ever, get to see the crazytown they cause in their romantic relationships.

Today I want to take a look at Betty Broderick and what her case teaches us about narcissistic abuse, healing, moving on, and letting go of bitterness. It is now nearly 30 years since she murdered her ex-husband and his second wife. She has had two parole hearings. The last one was in January, 2017. She was denied parole, because the judge found her still unremorseful for the murders.

Was Betty a victim of narcissistic abuse? Some would indicate that she was. Her husband was unsatisfied in their marriage and allegedly devalued her with comments about her aging appearance. He also allegedly gaslit her during his affair, making her feel crazy for her suspicions. In the end, he divorced her and she threw a massive violent tantrum, using their children as leverage at times, which backfired on her and allowed him to gain full custody of the two youngest children.

Betty essentially spiraled into a hateful, angry, bitter tailspin. She may spend the rest of her life behind bars. Her next eligibility for parole is set for 16 years from now. She is 70 years old. Her story of revenge and a bitter heart gives us a view of what could happen to any of us who decide to take the same route.

Today I have a question for my viewers. Have you ever seen a narcissist empathetic to someone? I have. My observation was with two narcissists who displayed deep sympathy or empathy towards certain people in their life. I have thought that narcissists were incapable of empathy, but when I think about these two it occurs to me that maybe a narcissist can sympathize and even empathize with a particular type of person. It actually makes a lot of sense once you know the kind of people they have empathy for. But I’m not sure if this is common or if it’s rare. So today, I’ll give you two examples of this and I’d like to ask if you have had any experience with this side of the narcissist.

Today I want to talk about Chris Watts pleading guilty to all 9 charges against him: Three charges of murder in the 1st degree, one charge of unlawful termination of a pregnancy, and three charges of tampering with the bodies of his wife and two daughters. One question still remains: Why? I have made three other videos attempting to understand what could drive someone like Chris Watts to murder his wife and children. I hope that we will be able to understand how a person arrives at such a tragic decision, so that we may be able to help people in mental distress not to end up where he did. Today I want to talk about what many people are hoping for. Many hope that the narcissist will change their ways so that we can have a fulfilling and normal relationship with them. We wonder if this is possible. After a discard, the ex is hesitant to retaliate or say anything bad about the narcissist, because he/she is hoping the narcissist will come back to them. Even months or years later, they are hoping they can return to a relationship with the narcissist. The relationship may not look the way you would expect, but you can have a relationship with the narcissist. I’ll explain how in this video.

Today, I want to talk about how we drive ourselves crazy. We drive ourselves crazy by imagining that life is perfect for the narcissist and the new supply. Are they really a better match for each other? Is the new supply really that much better than you? Did the narcissist finally find his/her soulmate? Is the narcissist really changing for the new supply? The short answer is “Heck no!” But we drive ourselves crazy imagining that their life is perfect when everything we know about the narcissist tells us this is impossible. So, today I want to look at the truth and dismiss the illusion.

Today I created a video that was requested by a viewer. The topic is “sharing children with your narcissistic ex”. This is a difficult issue and there are children at stake, not just yourself. But the focus should always be on how to raise healthy, awesome kids no matter who you are married to or divorced from.

So, how do you do this while in constant conflict? Well, there is a way. Those who’ve been successful have kept their cool. They remain calm during the storms and create a nurturing place for not just their kids, but first starting with themselves.
