  • Happy Crappy Hour #4 (Thursdays at 11AM EST on YouTube)

It was great to chat with you this morning! We had a lot to talk about. So glad to see new subs and my early subs on here! Not that I planned this, but today we talked quite a bit about Crying. Ha! Yes, Crying. Why? Because we sometimes stuff our sadness so that we can function (work, study, take care of responsibilities). We don’t allow ourselves the time to feel this sadness. Well, when we do that we become irritable, grumpy, and eventually angry. Every little thing starts to bother us and we take it out on people we love. So… What I’m saying here is… Cry. Let it out.

    Topic 1: Cry? Why?

    Topic 2: What if I can’t cry?

Topic 3: Detox after the narcissist.

But what if you can’t seem to muster a tear? Can’t cry. Well, we had lots of suggestions for that. And some other suggestions about detoxing as well. Crying is one thing that allows us to release emotional and physical toxins we’ve been cramming deep inside. So, it is important to be able to let out these emotions or we will start to poison our current surroundings as other emotions start to leak out and onto people we love.

  • Don’t get back with the narcissist! Trust your GUT!!!

I want to talk about your gut instinct and why you should trust it, especially when you are considering getting back with the narcissist. I was hesitant to recommend a show on Netflix called “Back with the EX”, because I was concerned viewers would be encouraged to get back with their narcissistic ex. This would be a horrible idea!

However, the reason I do recommend the show is because you will see how two people tried getting back together with their narcissistic exes. One appears to be an overt narcissist and the other made me think of a covert narcissist. There are many lessons to be learned as you watch this show and I wanted to point them out. Today I focused on the examples of when they listened or didn’t listen to their gut feelings and what happened.

Topic 1: If narcissists are made, why can’t they be cured?

Topic 2: What can we do if the narcissist is threatening?

It was great talking with you today! I love this time we have together and am so delighted to get to know you. Your stories and courage inspire me. I just want to let you know that.

My happy this week was that I did celebrate a small achievement – making it to 1400 subs! Woohoo! I am so glad that viewers are finding my videos helpful on their healing journey. It just fills my heart. So, I went to my favorite bakery and got two pastries! Yeah, I deserve it! I hope that you will also celebrate your milestones and achievements no matter how small this week!

My crappy this week was that I allowed myself too much rest and down time in the last two-three weeks and it has actually made me feel worse rather than better. I became unmotivated and very sluggish. I wasn’t happy with myself at all near the end there. I even started to feel pretty yucky about myself. So… I learned that there is such a thing as too much rest and down time. That was my crappy. Well, I stopped that trend and started a new schedule for myself that included productive time and I feel so much better. My motivation is back and I’m feeling really good about myself once again. Yay! I think that we all need to feel that we’ve accomplished something. It lifts your spirit and worth starts pouring back into your self image. All good stuff.

I asked a question at the beginning, which I think I’ll make into a video. The question is if psychologists think that narcissists are made (not born) why do they also think that narcissists can’t be cured? I’m going to think on that one for a while. What are your thoughts? I think that would be a good video. We also got to talk about a viewer’s experience with a very controlling and threatening narcissist. The discussion got into the legal problems the narcissist causes and what can we do to protect ourselves. Please comment if you have suggestions or anything to add to this topic. This information needs to be shared.

  • Celebrate even the small steps as you heal from narcissistic abuse

I want to talk about why we should celebrate. Healing from narcissistic abuse is one of the hardest things we will ever do and it can take years, even decades. So, it’s important that we use every tool that will help us get stronger and not lose any more of our life. We can set goals, but unless we celebrate when we hit those goals, the success will just pass by quietly and we will still feel stuck and unfulfilled. Celebrating seems out of place when we’re feeling sad and are going through a healing process. But celebrating the small steps will lift our spirits and start accumulating a sense of growth and movement. The most successful self help programs include celebrating the small milestones along the way. People will quit or get stuck if they don’t have something to look forward to or if they feel that their achievements are too small to celebrate. Start with small goals, but also be sure to celebrate them when you achieve them! You don’t have to wait until you hit the final big goal. It’s up to you!

  • A peek inside the sick mind of a narcissist/the Clay Waller and Jacque Waller Crime Story

Often, I come across examples of the deranged narcissistic mind while watching crime shows. In the case of Jacque Waller’s murderer, Clay Waller, I was shocked to hear some of his bizarre thoughts in a jailhouse phone recording. I want to share with you clips like this, so that you can see that a narcissist thinks very differently than people who can feel empathy. They just don’t get it. They don’t understand the devastation they cause and they certainly don’t think they should pay the consequences for any of their actions. This is why people involved with narcissists often are traumatized emotionally, financially, or physically.

This is the Crime Watch Daily episode of the Waller case: Triplets Without Parents after Dad Kills Mom

  • Happy Crappy Hour #1 (Thursdays at 11AM EST on YouTube)

This was a successful first live stream Happy Crappy Hour! Thank you all for showing up and especially for chiming in with your thoughts, concerns, questions, and ideas. I loved seeing my regulars from the video comments on here and meeting new viewers! I’m sorry if I didn’t address your comment. Apparently, I missed seeing some of them during the live stream. If you are still interested in discussing your comment from the live stream, please comment below and I’ll respond to it.

These are some books we recommended today: “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up” by Marie Kondo (this is also a show on Netflix). The show is inspiring and I recommend watching it. The book will go over the method Kondo teaches step by step.

I have been motivated to apply Kondo’s tidying up method and think this is going to be life changing. It seems so insignificant when we think of traumas, healing, life events, and relationships, but tidying up in your physical world does miracles in your psychological and emotional world. Just watch the transformation within the people on the show.

One of the things I did after narcissistic trauma was to start cleaning up a drawer, which was all the energy I had to keep myself moving and not curled up under my blankets. This led to clearing out cabinets, then a whole kitchen, pantry and then each room in my house. This has been over a year, so I am now going back and implementing Marie Kondo’s technique and clearing out more stuff. It is very liberating and helps you feel peace in your life. Although it seems insignificant in the scheme of life challenges, tidying up (the way Marie does it) will be life changing and will give you the peace you need to start healing.

Another book we mentioned today is “Boundaries” by Henry Cloud and John Townsend. If you would like to read this, I would love to talk about it with you!

  • The narcissist will FAIL, but you can SUCCEED!

I want to talk about a story I watched on Dateline several months ago. It made me think about the crazy world the narcissist will put you through and yet you can still become successful and put their destruction behind you. It truly is up to you. You always have the power to start over and I want to inspire you to take charge of your life now that you have left Crazytown.

Since the story is no longer available on Dateline, I found an article to help fill you in. The whole story has far more twists and turns and I would encourage you to try and find it on Dateline. Perhaps they will re-release it one day.

  • Making the Narcissist Miss You Can be Healthy. WHAT?? HOW?!?!

I want to talk about something that a lot of viewers wonder: Can I make the narcissist miss me? Why do we ask this? Because we want to feel valued and because we want to know we meant something. Also, because we want to get back at the narcissist. Whatever your reason, let it be a motivation to become strong and focus on becoming someone they would miss, not just an image of someone they would miss. In this video I want to give you very easy and doable tasks that will help you on your way. Perfect for the New Year coming up! If you’re watching this later in the year, you can still implement these tools at any time. You will become the person you were meant to be and you will grow stronger.

  • Expect a Guilt Trip When You Reject the Narcissist’s Bait

I want to talk about not becoming the narcissist’s next victim. The sad and pathetic narcissist will play on your sympathy and guilt you if you don’t comply. You have already escaped one narcissist and you don’t want to become another narcissist’s victim. I have two stories to share with you about this and I hope they will open your eyes to what you may expect, what to do, and how to still come out feeling like a good person.
