    Matthew 25:41

So many people are seeking answers to these questions but they do not know where to look. The world will certainly give you one side, while the Word of God gives us a very different perspective. This week we will look at a teaching of Jesus as He looks to the future of humanity and the reality of the spiritual world among us.

    The Bottom Line
    Core 52: The Invitation
    Matthew 22:14
The bottom line. Throughout the Gospels Jesus challenges those who choose to follow Him in many different ways. In Matthew 22 Jesus shares a story with the people that is both overwhelmingly hopeful while at the same time devastatingly tragic. It is a story about an invitation. What kinds of things have you received an invitation to in your life? Were you excited to go? The story Jesus shares probably does not end the way you think it would. It ends with these words. 14 “For many are invited, but few are chosen.” What does this sentence mean? What point is Jesus trying to get across?
If you feel left out or left behind. Maybe you feel unwanted or forgotten. Please know that Jesus is inviting you to be a part of His family right now. No matter where you are, what you have been through, or what you are in the middle of right now. He knows and He is calling out to you.

    Matthew 16:24-25
This week we begin a new series of messages that feature some very specific challenges from Jesus to those who desire to be His followers. Jesus opens this teaching with an invitation to whoever. Whoever wants to be His disciple. That is about as inclusive as it could possibly be. If anyone wants to follow Jesus, then He goes on to explain what they must do. Yes, what we must do as well. There is no way around it. Jesus’ command is still true today. Please join us so we can make this commitment to follow Jesus together.

The Greatest Sermon of All Time
    Core 52: Money
    Matthew 6:19-21
The sermon on the mount has been called the greatest sermon of all time by many. How many other things in this world have stood the test of time as perfectly as the Word of God? I can tell you. Unless they are of God or created by God, or put into motion by God, the answer is 0. His truth is eternal. We live in a world that tells us there is no absolute truth. I wonder what the world is so afraid of?
In Matthew 6:19 Jesus talks about money for the first time, but not the last. He will go on to reference money and possessions in 42% of the parables He shares. He knows that there is a direct relationship between our financial management and our faith development. Simply put where our treasure is there our heart will be also. We cannot wait to share Jesus’ encouraging and challenging words on such an important spiritual issue in our faith.
In this core 52 series we are examining the scriptures. We are challenged not just to know the Word of God but to learn to love it and then live it out.

The Greatest Sermon of All Time
    Core 52: Are you Good?
    Matthew 5:20
Where did we get the acronym G.O.A.T.? When did we start using it? How does it apply to the sermon on the mount? We will touch on all of those this week. The sermon on the mount is found in Matthew 5,6,7. It is said to be the greatest sermon ever shared by Jesus. Who are these words for? How can we apply Jesus’ teachings today?
This week we will look at the words found in Matthew 5:20.
“20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.”
What is righteousness? How could ours possibly be greater than the religious leaders of Jesus’ time? Jesus follows that statement with words that get to the heart of the matter. Because it is the heart that matters.

    Matthew 5:11-12
The New Year is here, and God loves you. I know some people might roll their eyes and say something like, “Yea right, if God loved me then why….” you can fill in the rest of the sentence. Have you spoke or thought those words before? Even if you have had those feelings, God loves you. We would love for you to join us in this new year so we can do more than explain God’s love to you, we want to show you.
The Greatest Sermon ever recorded is found in Matthew 5, 6, 7. Jesus begins with a series of statements that all start the same way, blessed are the… What do these statements mean? How do they apply to our lives today? Would you like to be blessed?

Core 52: The Son of Man
    Daniel 7:13
Happy New Year, well almost. I cannot believe 2024 is here. What a year it has been. This is the perfect time to reflect and remember the events of the past year. I am sure that over the last few weeks many of you have done just that. We have experienced times of sorry and tragedy. We have seen events unfold around the world that did not even seem like they were even possible. We have seen pure evil manifest itself in ways that our ancestors could never have even dreamed of. It seems that the world around us is in constant turmoil. I would contend that the world is exactly how man wants it. Man’s ways are not God’s ways. Man’s pursuits often strive to work against God. What the sinful nature of man refuses to admit is that the more chaos that is around us, the more our souls long for peace. The more fear that man stirs up, the more our hearts long for safety and security. The more hate the world provokes, the more we long to love. The more division the world sews the more we long for unity. The more confusion the world brings about, the more we thirst for understanding. The more lies the world promotes the hungrier people get for truth.
This week we get to introduce you to the Son of Man. Have you heard that title? Do you know why it is such an important one? We can’t wait to share it with you.
