N: Doctora, tenemos caso de anafilaxia, aquí.

D: Ya voy. Hola, señora.  ¿Su hijo tiene alguna alergia?

M: No que yo sepa. 

D: ¿Estuvo expuesto a algo?

M: Pues, hace más o menos media hora comió camarones. Y cuando salimos del restaurante, se puso muy rojo. Se le hinchó la cara y empezó a toser y tener problemas para respirar. Ayúdenos, doctora

D: Paige, ya le has dado epinefrina?

E: Sí, justo ahora, doctora.

D: Muy bien. Y su presión arterial es de cien sobre cincuenta. ¿Verdad?

E: Sí, doctora. Acabo de tomar esa presión.

D: Y veo que ya le está aplicando una infusión rápida de suero.

E: Así es. Y la terapeuta respiratoria le hizo una nebulización cuando apenas llegó.

D: Muy bien.

Exam

D: Abre la boca, por favor. Y di “ahhh.”

P: Ah

D: Inhala…. y ahora exhala.

Los pulmones se oyen bien. No escucho ninguna sibilancia.

If you do not know the adult’s relationship with the child, instead of saying HIJO or HIJA, you can use EL NIÑO or LA NIÑA.
