Paul says that in whatever circumstance he is in, he has learned the secret of being content. We all desire contentment, and we all long for the secret so that no matter what circumstance we find ourselves in, we can give thanks to God. 

As we finish the book of 1 Peter, Peter gives his final words to his listeners. He encourages them to humble themselves, trust in the Lord, finish strong, and stand firm in the Lord! 

Peter takes Old Testament passages and themes and applies them to the church. The church, in Christ, has become the new Israel. Now how do we live in light of the fact that we are priests of God? 

It's the age old question, What is love? What does it look like to love one another? What is the source of our love? What are some sins that will kill the love in your life and in your church? 

How should Christians relate to the governing authorities that have been placed over them? When do we submit? When do we not submit? Did Peter violate his own command to submit to the government? 

What is the Christian relationship to the Civic Government?

An unparalleled cultural crisis demands from the church a hard gaze into Scripture to provide light to the world. As in any conflict, a helpful starting point is to ask: who is in charge around here?
