About James Jackson:
James Jackson is the Director at NXTGEN Learning LTD, a Black Inclusion, EPIC & Mental Health Speaker as well as the Co-Founder at #spacetotalk.
"By the age of 13, I had lived in 28 different home addresses and attended 21 different schools. I was a victim of abuse, bullying and racism on a routine basis but that was not the worst of it". This is just a snippet into the life of my guest today James Jackson who despite challenging circumstances growing up (putting it mildly) has not let that define him.
On today's episode, I talk to James Jackson about the followings:
______________________________________________________________________
The balance between sharing your story and using your lived experience to add value versus reliving the trauma and looking after your mental health.
The importance of having downtime and taking a step back
The effects of having a broken education (21 schools by 13) had on him as a teenager
Dealing with suicide, depression and the power of talking therapy
Men and mental health
Leadership and understanding what you are signing up to
Creating opportunities instead of waiting for opportunities
Why it is so important to hear from people in the middle instead of those who have made it.
