One thing I can say about my boy twin is he takes pride in what he does. There’s no such thing as a Janky promoter. It’s either you move with integrity or you’re just a con artist.

Twin isn’t looking for a quick bag. If he’s responsible for a show in your town best believe he’s going to get in the streets and meet people face-to-face hand to hand.

One thing I do respect about my guy is , he understands he’s position in this game & is authentic. Reputation speaks for you when you’re not around.

Being a young OG carries a lot of responsibility. But at the same time it should also come with a fair amount of respect.

Swiggle Mandela might not be a part of every rap conversation that has to do with Portland politics but he’s definitely in the conversation of the “ Go to rappers” here in the Rose City.

Now don’t think for one second that Swiggle doesn’t have politics of his own.

With controversial tracks like Dear white Portland, Dear Portland police & 40 acres and a new car. It’s kind of hard not to have politics with titles like these. But with all the racial tension, black lives matter protest and the unjustified killings of black men by the hands of the white police in Portland (and through out the us) it was definitely needed.

One of the most interesting stories I’ve heard in a long while.

My guy mighty literally had nothing & turned everything into something.

From being homeless and sleeping in cars with his mother, from couch to couch & attending 11 different elementary schools as a child, young Mighty did not let his unfortunate situation stop him or discourage him from being great.

How does a child with so many questions but not enough resources channel such confusion?

By the age of 12 mighty had found his resource and put every ounce of emotion into it. Rap had became his new channel & through music he had now began to gain the resources he needed in order to make away for him and his family.

Social media definitely is a drug for some people. A lot of people will lose their mind if they make a post and don’t get a certain kind of reaction or a certain amount of likes in a timely fashion.

Some folks have literally dedicated their lives to wanting to be famous on social media. Which in some cases have successfully worked for some folks. Millions have tried but only a hand full have succeeded.

Mighty has definitely been chasing the bag and it shows. We’re proud of Mighty and his hard work. We definitely need to give our loved ones their roses while we can. He definitely deserves his!

Fourth of July was a weird one for everyone this year in the Pacific Northwest… After dealing with 117° weather we were banned from being able to purchase fireworks and celebrate this holiday.

So instead of being stuck in the house with nothing to do we decided to podcast!

Things have been getting real spicy around the town lately and not to mention drama is no stranger here in the Rose City.

“Allegedly” a artist out of the Portland area by the name of Bino bands has gotten his chain stolen. Not only that… There is a video circulating the Internet where A unnamed individual that had possession of the chain brought it to a jewelry store and based off of the information that is provided in the video has led us to believe that his chain is also fake!

WOOOOW!

Some might look at it as there might be multiple L’s taken in that situation and some might see it as one big giant L. Idk, what do you think?

The most severe heat wave in the history of the Pacific Northwest is near its climax.

Today (Monday) soared to at least 113 degrees , the highest temperature in more than 80 years of record-keeping. It marked the third straight day the city had climbed to an all-time high.

On Sunday, it hit 112 Sunday after reaching 108 Saturday, both of which broke the previous all-time record of 107…

Kids can barely talk, stores are closing even earlier than their new Covid hours & folks are irritable then ever!

Princess LaLa has finally won her battle against kidney and lung cancer. Situations like these are very touchy for parents, loved ones & all parties involved.

While knowing that why would anybody in their right mind want to play with parents about the most important event taking place in their life and that child’s life?

What kind of sick individual would make promises to a child and back out of all arrangements put together their Organization 36 hours before the event?

One thing about life is we all got a story and because we all have a story and it’s your story that makes it unique.

Just like most of us my boy giggles has been through some rough ups and downs in life. Unstable household, raised by one parent and finding himself in some deep shit as a adolescent.

It might sound like your typical 8 mile type situation but you’re wrong. My boy giggles was moving like 2Pac and didn’t even know it.

After commenting a crime that landed him 2 years in jail gigs life would change drastically. Good & bad.

While incarcerated young Torrin stumbled across a opportunity of a lifetime.

Loving music & wanting every chance possible to showcase his talent, Torrin fought for his chance to prove himself to none other than Bruce George.

Bruce George is the Co-Founder of the award-winning "Russell Simmons Presents, Def Poetry Jam (HBO), and the Founder of the rapidly growing "Genius Is Common" Movement.

Mind blowing isn’t it?

Oregon was the only state to enter the union with a constitutional band against African-Americans owning property or living in their community.

Throughout the 20th century portland had less than 2000 black residence.

Within the span of four years the black population in Portland Oregon area exploded!

At the end of World War II President Henry J Kaiser built a mass boat operation in Portland. Recruiting not only blacks but white folks as well from the south.

During the war years the African-American population in Portland grew to as large as 25,000.

In 1943 the city of Van port which is a small town that was once located in between Vancouver Washington and Portland Oregon was a country‘s largest public housing development.

After the war the attitude of the political parties (mayor Riley & The council) change significantly. They wanted van poor gone immediately. They started tearing down and demolishing the neighborhood apartment building by apartment building.

Memorial day 1948 is when the drastic sudden change occurred. The city that was known as Van port was completely underwater within 45 minutes. The water had cascading the area upwards to 15 feet high. Folks of the neighborhood were literally running for their lives up Denver Avenue to escape the flood. The town had lost about 13 people and everything they have worked hard for.

The tragic and horrible destruction of Van port birth a new community. Thousands of a van poor evacuees merged into a new area of town which we called today Albina Ave!

If you from Portland & don’t know who Richy Qwavoo is you must be living underneath a rock. My boy Quavoo is most definitely the rose city Viral king.

On a side note, I feel like Quavoo doesn’t get the respect he deserves as an artist in general. After the numerous projects that he’s released throughout the last 10 years and not to mention him being a part of the biggest movement in underground music and mixtape history (Coast to coast mixtapes) leaves me with two questions.

1) why hasn’t someone like Richy Qwavoo that is obviously talented with music hasn’t made it yet?

2) if coast to coast would’ve stayed in Portland Oregon would that have gave the rose city a real chance at having a hip hop music scene?
