Cruise ships are floating resorts that dreams are made of. But dark danger lurks beyond cocktails, fine dining and endless entertainment. Because cruise ships mostly operate in international waters, there is no police force on board. Security guards keep the peace, but they do not have any policing power. Disney Wonder employee, Rebecca Coriam was recorded on CCTV footage, frazzled and distraught, making a phone call on an internal phone. She was never seen again.

Happy Halloween!16th century Transylvanian Blood Countess, Erzebet Báthory, was labelled as the most prolific female serial killer in history in The Guinness World Records. It is believed that she tortured, mutilated and murdered as many as 650 young girls, then bathed in their blood to preserve her youthful beauty. Historians are divided whether she was in fact a sadistic landowner or the victim of an effective smear campaign. For pictures and more information, join us on Facebook

In 1987, Singapore police were informed about a grisly murder that took place three years before. According to the informant, three men had killed a caretaker in an Orchard Road church and dismembered his body. They cooked his remains into a curry, then scooped it into black plastic bags and went about disposing of it across town, in various public trash cans. Did this actually happen, or was it all a sick hoax? Or was it perhaps the perfect murder? For pictures and more information, join us on Facebook

Athens police arrested a local taxi driver, on suspicion of murder. To their surprise, he confessed that it was not his first murder. Between 1987 and 1996, Dimitris Vakrinos murdered five people and attempted to kill another seven. He killed or attacked anyone who crossed him, no matter who they were. Because of his varied methods of murder and the fact that his victims were all different, police were unaware that a serial killer was active in the ancient city. Special thanks: VKFor pictures and more information, join us on Facebook
