Evidence Locker True Crime

In the 1980s USSR’s Rostov Oblast was terrorized by a cold-blooded serial killer. Women and children disappeared from bus stops and train stations, and police were at a loss. They called the faceless killer The Rostov Ripper, The Butcher of Rostov, The Maniac… After a decade-long killing-spree, police arrested an unassuming man. Andrei Chikatilo was a former teacher and grandfather. Had he been hiding in plain sight all along?Sponsor:

In 1843 rural NSW had its fair share of Bushranger violence, akin to the violent times in America’s wild west. But when a wife and her lover brutally murdered a man in his sleep, it sparked outrage. Lucretia Dunkley and Martin Beech killed her husband Henry in bed, with an axe. They buried his body in a shallow grave on their farm, then sat down to a hearty breakfast of tea, bread, bacon & eggs. Sponsors:Manscaped - Global leaders in men’s below-the-waist grooming. Michel Peiry is said to have committed as many as 11 murders in the 1980s. He’s also known as the Sadist of Romont, or the Swiss Hitchhiker Killer. He picked up teenage hitchhikers, restrained them, beat them, sexually assaulted them, and then burned their bodies. Some of his victims were burnt alive. When he was arrested he said that he was glad police caught him, because he didn’t think he’d be able to stop otherwise. He advised the police to lock him up and throw away the key.Sponsor:

On the evening of July 16th, 1997, sisters Marijoy and Jacqueline Chiong were kidnapped from a shopping center in Cebu, The Philippines. Two days later, Marijoy’s body was found in a ravine close-by. Seven men were convicted of the crime, with little evidence against them. This is arguably the most controversial case in the Philippines to date. In the case that divided the nation, one question remains: was justice served?Sponsors:

The lighthouse on the rock-island of Eilean Mòr in the Flannan Isles is one of the most isolated places on earth. In December 1900, a relief boat arrived with supplies and support for the keepers, but the only sign of life was three blackbirds, sitting on the roof of the living quarters, quietly staring. The three keepers had disappeared into thin air. To this day, this unsolved case puzzles armchair sleuths all over the world.
