Exciting and New

Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Troy back on the podcast as they discuss what they were up to this week.  The Wraith is coming this Wednesday.

Jason, Andy and Dana will discuss a 1986 movie weekly, breaking down all the nonsense there within. The 3 hosts all work together and everyone else around them was getting really annoyed at all the movie talk, so they decided to annoy the world in podcast form.

Check out previous seasons to hear them discuss 1982, 1983, 1984 & 1985 movies, as well as a full season of Love Boat episodes (if that is your thing). Plus one-off specials and a weekly mini "what are we watching" podcast.

This week on the Exciting and New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Dan back on the show as they discuss the 1986 horror classic The Fly.  In this remaking of the 50s era Vincent Price flick, David Cronenberg amps up the body horror and paces an absolute gem as Jeff Goldblum transports himself and a fly across the room with unexpected results.  Gina David is Ronnie, the reporter documenting it all.  Mel Brooks said "Be afraid.  Be very afraid." and boy he IS NOT kidding.  This movie is nearly perfect and we all couldn't recommend it highly enough.  Stop right now and watch this movie.  Then enjoy the podcast!!

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Herbie back on the show to discuss the 1986 comedy Vamp.  In this precursor to From Dusk till Dawn, a group of college kids stumble upon a strip club that just so happens to be a front for vampires.  Who knew this was a trope?  The little nerd from My Bodyguard is now a studdly college student and Gedde Wantanabee gets to speak in his natural accent for once.  Grace Jones stars as the Vamp, and speaks exactly zero times in a bold acting choice.  It ain't great, but it ain't bad either.  Halloween continues on.  Enjoy the podcast!!

This week on the Exciting & New Podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Shamus back on the show as they discuss the 1986 slasher flick, Friday the 13th Part Vi: Jason Lives.  This is a high watermark for Friday movies and the E&N gang had fun sticking their toes back in the cool, cool waters of Crystal Lake.  Jason is back, and for some reason people keep going back to Crystal Lake expecting different results.  What's that?  It's not called Crystal Lake anymore?  Well, Jason didn't get the memo, and now he is a Horshack-heart removing, triple-decapitating unkillable zombie, and for the first time in frachise history, the little kiddies have made it to camp on the same day Jason decided to go on a spree.  Jason wouldn't kill the innocent, would he?  Alice Cooper even provided some songs (including an original) for the soundtrack, so you know Jason has made it to the big time now.  Enjoy the podcast!!

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Anthony back on the show to discuss the 1986 sci-fi comedy Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.  You remember the cast, you remember the plot (whates!), but did you remember the humor?  This movie is flat out funny.  And in all the right ways.  We aren't laughing at Kirk, Spock, Bones and the crew, we are laughing with them.  Well, maybe we are also laughing at them as well.  Is this the best Star Trek movie ever?  Maybe.  Is it the funniest?  Absolutley.  And we had tons of fun discussing this one.  Enjoy the podcast!!
