This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Mike back on the show as they discuss the 1986 crime drama F/X.  In this frachise starter, a Crocodile Dundee clone is a special effects (F/X, get it?) expert, hired to fake the death of a mob informer, using the power of F/X.  But maybe he really killed him.  Or maybe the whole thing is a con.  There are a lot of twists and turns in this one, and then Tommy Boy's dad show up.  He should have been introduced much earlier in the film.  Anyway this was a very divided flick for the E&N team.  Listen to them argue over the merits (or possibly lack there of) of this movie.  Enjoy the podcast!!

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Shamus back on the show as they discuss the 1986 BMX-citing flick Rad.  This movie stars a pre-felon Aunt Becky and a post-Spicoli Mr Hand, along with a whole bunch of nobodies on BMX bikes (Oh, Rocky's wife makes an appearance, apparently paying the price for being married to the producer) .  This movie has it all.  A bike trick montage, a paper delivery montage, a dance montage, a dance-bike montage, and a racing montage, along with open credits shot over bike tricks and end credits shot over bike tricks.  Yup.  That's the whole movie.  It's Hot Dog! This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana ride solo as they discuss the 1986 kid adventure movie SpaceCamp.  In this "whoops, we launched a space shuttleby mistake" adventure movie, Mrs. Speilberg, Mrs. Travolta and Mrs. McFly are "kids" at SpaceCamp where a lot of nonsense ensues.  An up and coming Leaf Phoenix is there, along with Lamar from Nerds and Joshua from Friends.  John Williams mails in the score for ths one.  There seemed to be a lot of promise in this one, but just like visiting the actual NASA facility, they take space travel and make it really boring.  Enjoy the podcast!!

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Danny back on the show as they discuss the 1986 comedy (?) adventure (?) sex romp (?) Howard the Duck.  This pre-MCU Marvel disaster doesn't know what it wants to be.  It is WAY too sexy for kids (Duck nipples???).  It is WAY too childish for adults (just about everything else).  It is a train wreck in every sense of the the term, with the exceptioin being that this train wreck you can easily look away from.  We found out that George Lucas lost Pixar over the financial disaster this movie was, and that actually doesn't sound like a high enough price to pay.  Skip this flick, but enjoy the podcast!
