Exciting and New

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Jim and Rachel onto the show as they discuss the 1986 comedy(?) ¡Three Amigos!   This movie has it all.  Chevy Chase, Steve Martin, Martin Short, Jon Lovitz, Phil Hartman, Joe Mantegna.  The only thing that is missing?  Anything funny.  How can you have all this talent and not make anyone laugh for almost 2 hours.  If you want to watch a funny spoof western, go watch Blazing Saddles.  After you have listened to the podcast.  Enjoy!!

Jason, Andy and Dana will discuss a 1986 movie weekly, breaking down all the nonsense there within. The 3 hosts all work together and everyone else around them was getting really annoyed at all the movie talk, so they decided to annoy the world in podcast form.

Check out previous seasons to hear them discuss 1982, 1983, 1984 & 1985 movies, as well as a full season of Love Boat episodes (if that is your thing). Plus one-off specials and a weekly mini "what are we watching" podcast.

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Mac back on the show as they discuss the 1986 drama Blue Velvet.  In this David Lynch classic, Frank Booth F-bomb's his way through severed ears, insane brothels and portable popper tanks, and that is just the start of the insanity.  Basically two kids get in WAY over their heads, and the local town heavy is going to make them pay.  And remember, it is always PBR!!  This is a good one, and a great one to discuss.  Enjoy the podcast!!

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Mike back on the show as they discuss the 1986 comedy One Crazy Summer.  In this spiritual sequal to Better Off Dead, Joan Cusack's little brother and Brian Doyle Murray's little brother meet up with Booger and Bobcat on Nantucket as they try to help Demi Moore win a house (was that what they were doing?) from Neidermeyer, who apparently survived all those Twister Sister videos long enough to play the bad guy here.  The end of this movie is basically Summer Rental without the Candy.  Enjoy the podcast!!

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Mike back on the show as they discuss the 1986 crime drama F/X.  In this frachise starter, a Crocodile Dundee clone is a special effects (F/X, get it?) expert, hired to fake the death of a mob informer, using the power of F/X.  But maybe he really killed him.  Or maybe the whole thing is a con.  There are a lot of twists and turns in this one, and then Tommy Boy's dad show up.  He should have been introduced much earlier in the film.  Anyway this was a very divided flick for the E&N team.  Listen to them argue over the merits (or possibly lack there of) of this movie.  Enjoy the podcast!!

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Shamus back on the show as they discuss the 1986 BMX-citing flick Rad.  This movie stars a pre-felon Aunt Becky and a post-Spicoli Mr Hand, along with a whole bunch of nobodies on BMX bikes (Oh, Rocky's wife makes an appearance, apparently paying the price for being married to the producer) .  This movie has it all.  A bike trick montage, a paper delivery montage, a dance montage, a dance-bike montage, and a racing montage, along with open credits shot over bike tricks and end credits shot over bike tricks.  Yup.  That's the whole movie.  It's Hot Dog! The Movie, set to bikes.  Enjoy the podcast!
