Exciting and New

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana ride solo as they discuss the 1986 kid adventure movie SpaceCamp.  In this "whoops, we launched a space shuttleby mistake" adventure movie, Mrs. Speilberg, Mrs. Travolta and Mrs. McFly are "kids" at SpaceCamp where a lot of nonsense ensues.  An up and coming Leaf Phoenix is there, along with Lamar from Nerds and Joshua from Friends.  John Williams mails in the score for ths one.  There seemed to be a lot of promise in this one, but just like visiting the actual NASA facility, they take space travel and make it really boring.  Enjoy the podcast!!

Jason, Andy and Dana will discuss a 1986 movie weekly, breaking down all the nonsense there within. The 3 hosts all work together and everyone else around them was getting really annoyed at all the movie talk, so they decided to annoy the world in podcast form.

Check out previous seasons to hear them discuss 1982, 1983, 1984 & 1985 movies, as well as a full season of Love Boat episodes (if that is your thing). Plus one-off specials and a weekly mini "what are we watching" podcast.

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Danny back on the show as they discuss the 1986 comedy (?) adventure (?) sex romp (?) Howard the Duck.  This pre-MCU Marvel disaster doesn't know what it wants to be.  It is WAY too sexy for kids (Duck nipples???).  It is WAY too childish for adults (just about everything else).  It is a train wreck in every sense of the the term, with the exceptioin being that this train wreck you can easily look away from.  We found out that George Lucas lost Pixar over the financial disaster this movie was, and that actually doesn't sound like a high enough price to pay.  Skip this flick, but enjoy the podcast!

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Mike back on the show to discuss the 1986 comedy Ruthless People.   In this Lone Star career launcher, just about everyone is a terrible person, plotting to screw over everyone else, while also trying to pretend they aren't in fact the titular ruthless person.  An all-star cast, directed by the Airplane/Naked Gun team try their best, but there is just something missing here.   A big fat "meh".  But the E&N team brings their "A" game discussing it.  Enjoy the podcast!!

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Becky back on the podcast to discuss the 1986 comedy Ferris Bueller's Day Off.  In this all time classic, Abe Froman, the sausage king of Chicago, commits, among other things, grand theft auto, assault on his best friend, identity fraud and disorderly conduct, all while being pursued by a a convicted pedophile.  But what can you expect, being raised by the dumbest parents on the planet.  Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.  Especially if you are doing time in the hoosegow with Charlie Sheen.  Enjoy the podcast!

This week on the Exciting & New pocast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Herbie back on the show to discuss the coming of age rom-comie Lucas.  In this teen romance flick, Corey Haim pines for the Goonies Andie, while trying to avoid Charlie Sheen in the locker room shower.  This is our second football related movie in two weeks.  Again, our hero goes deep for a last minute hail mary.  Will he catch it??  You might be surprised.  A baby faced Winona and a pre-Chairman of the "Bored" Courtney Thorne-Smith both make their screen debuts in this one.  Enjoy the podcast!
