Hari Budha Magar is a Nepalese double above-knee amputee and world record-breaking mountaineer.
In 2010, he lost both his legs above the knee after an IED explosion in Afghanistan. He was devastated by his injuries, but he refused to give up. He decided to use his experience to inspire others and change perceptions of what is possible for people with disabilities.
In 2017, Magar became the first double above-knee amputee to summit a mountain taller than 6,000 meters (Mera Peak, 6,476 meters). Then, on May 19, 2023, he accomplished the record of being the first ever double above-knee amputee to summit the world's tallest mountain, Mount Everest (8,848 meters).
Magar's climb was an incredible achievement, and it has inspired people all over the world. He is a true inspiration, and he shows us that anything is possible if we set our minds to it.
Here are some of the quotes from Hari Budha Magar:
"I want to show people that if I can do this, they can do anything."
"I want to change the perception of people with disabilities. I want people to see us as capable and strong."
"I want to inspire people to never give up on their dreams, no matter what challenges they face."
Magar's story is an inspiration to us all. He shows us that anything is possible if we set our minds to it and never give up on our dreams.
