  • Social Media, I guess
Helloooo, long time no hear!! Well, you probably couldn’t care less but I’m glad you’re reading this and listening to my brain dump 🫶🏼 why was social media ever invented? I think escapism is the answer. Everything that is entertainment is escapism of some form, right? Books, movies, music,… I LOVE ESCAPISM. It makes life so fun. And yet, it it bad sometimes. Especially with social media. I get too obsessed and I think many people have that problem. Because it’s different to novels. We think the people online are real. But in the end, they are all just characters based on real people, right? Yeah, I think that might be a helpful thought. Anyway, let me know your thoughts on social media (on social media 😛). Byeeeee 🫶🏼

  • WELTSCHMERZ
    WELTSCHMERZ
"The modern meaning of Weltschmerz in the German language is the psychological pain caused by sadness that can occur when realizing that someone's own weaknesses are caused by the inappropriateness and cruelty of the world"
You can feel it when the world does not fit your (ideal) ideas of it. And when you realise that you are somehow powerless in this whole mess. The constant availability access to every kind of news reinforces that feeling. Our field of action doesn't correspond to our field of knowledge. Personally, I sometimes feel overwhelmed by the fact that I cannot do much about that. What happens then is that I pity myself, and ultimately I do nothing.
What helps is setting boundaries. It's not ignorant. We are aware that bad things are happening. But staying within our field of action allows us to actually act on the small scale. And everything you do puts something in motion. We cannot stop bad things from happening but we can accept that this is reality and do our best to help where we can. That can mean just helping in your closest environment. The most important thing is not to dwell on that feeling of powerlessness because it will put you (and me) in the position of the victim which we are not!
Let me know how you deal with this ironically romantic feeling of Weltschmerz. World-pain. See you next time 🫶🏼

  • (Self-) comparison - why it should be cancelled
Comparison… when I think of that word, it only carries bad connotations. Comparison (especially self-comparison) usually means that I am somehow worse than the person or thing that I compare myself to. Why though? Why do so many people feel the need to put themselves down? The need to have affirmation of being “wrong” or bad. Let me tell you, I don’t know why we do that. As every negative emotion, an upward comparison also serves for us to know where we are in life, to not make mistakes and to not fall behind. And, as always, there is a very thin line between just the right amount and too much. In this episode, I am trying to tell you how I think comparison (or negative self-comparison) can be handled and I am trying to encourage you not to pity yourself too much 🫶🏼 I hope you enjoy! And please let me know how you handle comparison, because as you might hear, I am a little bit lost.

  • Glorification of suffering
When you suffer, you are noble. You are humble and the only way to enjoy your life is to know that you have suffered to get there. This makes it meaningful. WHY? I am myself a victim of feeling the need to suffer and it sometimes makes me feel good. How twisted. So where does it come from? Is it Jesus’ fault? I don’t know but it’s extremely problematic in my opinion that media and society glorify suffering. Self inflicted suffering effectively helps No ONE, it only hurts yourself, keep that in mind❤️ if you can tell me where this glorifications stems from (if you are maybe an expert on the topic) please let me know! Cause I am desperate to know!!

  • endings and beginnings
Every time when a season in your life ends, a new one begins (so obviously, this episode marks the start of a new season). It’s extremely fluent - at least that is what we expect. Something that I found out (with the help of meditation *7mind* ;)) ) is that after each exhale, there is always a little break before the next inhale - we literally TAKE a breath. More often than not, however, we tend to skip this pause in the flow of life. What‘s the problem? We metaphorically hyperventilate which leads to us eventually being forced to take a break because we are so out of breath, so exhausted. In this episode I am trying (yes, very figuratively) to somehow explain my idea of the breath and the break in between breath as applied to life itself. To me it seems like a no-brainer but one that I never really understood. So maybe this is enlightening to some of you as well! And if not, let me know what your strategy is for times of change. Se ya!🤠

  • Progress in Casa Tiña
Hola! First of all, shoutout to _mirislifestyle_ , the sponsor of the idea for this podcast episode!! Today, I’ll take you to the Spanish house Casa Tiña and you will hear a lot of opinions about what progress is. It’s movement, development, change, positive, negative and so much more! I commented on a few of the thoughts but mostly, they are just there for you to listen to and maybe think about that question yourself. Of course, I also chatted a lot about my own idea of progress and came to the conclusion that…. Ah you’ll see! Enjoy! And tell me: what does progress mean to you? Thank you casa Tiña ❤️ I have made a lot of progress here 😘

  • Start d o i n g
Stop thinking, start doing. Yes, we‘ve heard it all before but what does it really mean? In the last time, I only really understood what it meant to me. Nein myself part of the club of chronic overthinkers, I pretty often get stuck in the thought spirals. But a lot of cheesy quotes that you can enjoy in this episode actually really help to overcome the weird thought-shock. The water doesn’t get warmer the longer you wait and you never fall off the bicycle as long as you keep pedalling. Are you an overthinker as well? Hit me up so we can become overthinking friends ❤️ (@experienca). How do you deal with thought spirals?

  • No offence, but…
I got offended recently, by something very stupid! And that got me thinking: why do we get offended? And isn’t there a way to stop that weird thought spiral that starts at the moment you get offended? Well, I think there is, and that’s what I am telling you about essentially. I also talk about reasons for getting offended and why I think it is way nicer to not get offended because who needs that?! I wanna live a calm life and I know people will probably try to offend me at one point. But after all, taking offence is a decision 🤪 it’s YOUR decision

  • Multiverse 2.0 - DECISIONS
First of all, you made it through Christmas once again, well done 🤩This is the very synthesis of last weeks episode which was fun for me but lacked a bit of helpful thoughts maybe. So I came to the conclusion that the multiverse idea basically talks about decision making. This is basically what life is about, isn’t it? I often find making decisions hard and so do lots of other people. I tried to theorise about why that is so and I think it makes a lot of sense. If you have thoughts to add pleeeease let me know and thank you for listening bros ❤️

  • Multiverse 1.0 - a strategy for overthinkers?
We need to talk about the multiverse, yes! What is it? Not the metaverse of Zuckerberg, no it it the multiverse of Marvel. The idea that there exist infinite worlds that exist at the same time and might have us in them as well. It sounds confusing, it sounds like a conspiracy theory, it’s terrifying, yet exciting. I’m trying to find out the science (if it exists) behind this idea and what I think about it. But most importantly, if it exists or not, it is a fun mind game that can be quite helpful at some points in life. What do you think? Does the multiverse or do multiple worlds exist? 🌍
