Sean O'Brien is proud of his Dixon roots. The small-town success is the founder of Headtop Performance. The Duke Graduate is also partnered with Top 50 Speaker Ben Newman with O'Brien's newest adventure called Uncommon Coaching. Here is a guy that went from Dixon to Duke. How he got there is one thing. Here are my favorite HIGHLIGHTS  ...
▪️1. His meeting with Ben Newman. Pretty cool how it happened and then what it developed into. I LOVE encounters like this because it goes to show you that you never know what will be the result of our daily encounters with people.
▪️2. The Stanford to Duke story. Pretty amazing to be feeling one way at one point and then to have your world flipped upside down. The good news is that things worked out exactly as they should have.
▪️3. Sean's admission of the busy life leading to 'burn out.' Sean realized he needed balance and made the adjustment toward making that happen.

Our Connection | Sean was introduced to me by a friend named Mike Gutterman. He simply told me, "You have to have Sean on your podcast." That was enough for me and we booked the conversation a week later.

Isaac Serwanga is a force to be reckoned with and is one man I would want by my side if I was going to war. The Sacramento Native has the gift of story telling. With that gift, Serwanga has made a name for himself as a motivational speaker under the direction of Inform + Inspire. He is beyond his years. He gets it. He understands and just wants to pass it along to those who are in need of inspiration and direction.

▪️1. At one point, Isaac was reciting the words of Les Brown. He followed that by his story of trying to unleash his inner Les Brown in front of a group. 
▪️2. Three sports people. At a Division One school. At Princeton. That is just unheard of and absolutely impressive!
▪️3. The endless quotes and the stories he shares in this episode are priceless.

Our Connection | Isaac spoke at St. Michael's a few years ago. He was giving a motivational speech to our middle schoolers. I had the chance to meet him afterward. I knew that our paths would cross again.

Kim Squaglia is the OG (Original Gangster or Old School) of House Real Estate. Not only did she partner with Tim Collom on the real estate end. Kim, like Tim, is also an artist. Like a highly acclaimed artist with close to 200 pieces to her name. She has been featured in some really BIG places, including her SOLD OUT exhibition when she was coming out of college. Although she doesn't do as much art now, what she gathered has translated into her success as a top realtor in the Sacramento area.

▪️2. Kim's admiration and respect for being an artist. "There is no better feeling when someone pays a good deal of money for your work."
▪️3. We both worked at Waterworld at Cal Expo. Being about the same age, we probably worked together at the same time. Unfortunately, I have a terrible memory. But again, I was shocked when she said that.

Our Connection | I have never personally met Kim. She did let me know that her son participated in my Buzzardball Winter League. But after today's conversation, I have to make it a point to say 'hi' in personal. She is phenomenal.

Katie Simpson is next up in our three-part series that highlights the title sponsor of Experience the Buzz, House Real Estate. Damon Szymanowski of Szymanowski Orthodontics makes the job of straightening teeth FUN. Just ask his patients, especially the kids. Matt Gougé has found a way to make MORTGAGE fun! Take his You Tube Channel for example that has created his persona Matt the Mortgage Guy (also the name of his business). Through hard work and consistency, Gougé has built quite a following as he just recently surpassed 5000 subscribers (5.14 as of today). The key to success with his You Tube Channel? Provide value and speak to people like me in layman's terms on topics surrounding mortgage.

Erica Bliss Pattni is the founder of ROWDY, which is a club-inspired and very unique approach to digital fitness. I am fascinated about how businesses are formed. Check this out. Erica, who was celebrating her 40th birthday in 2019, had a great night of fun and dancing with her friends. Knowing that those fun nights mixed in with life couldn't happen on a normal basis. There had to be a way to bring that experience into your home. And why not combine it with a great workout. Boom! The ROWDY idea was born.

▪️1. Sturgiss, South Dakota is fascinating. You have to see the photo he has hanging in his office which is a bird's eye view of Main Street. Never had heard of it until I met Troy.

Our Connection | I met Troy during our PAL days (Athletics) with his kids at St. Ignatius in Sacramento and me serving as Athletic Director at St. Michael's in Carmichael.
