KIM BOONE is a powerhouse and a great representation for entrepreneurs and small business owners. Boone has operated All My Best for 31 years. All My Best is a printing and apparel company in Rocklin that has succeeded on the formation of great relationships and a priority on customer service. In addition, we get to hear from three of her kids who are on board to take this Rocklin Company onward and upward. Today you will enjoy the journey of Kim, Taylor, Mack, and Madison Boone. A true family business!

Our Connection |  I was introduced to Kim years ago by good friend Gregg Pistochini. I knew in our first meeting it was going to be a great relationship. All My Best has printed my basketball uniforms for my Winter Basketball League.

ANNE KHASIGIAN is the perfect person to kick off Season Two of Experience the Buzz. With a new year means new beginnings. But don't you dare say the word 'diet' around Anne (she cringes). Instead, Anne is about helping people form great habits from top to bottom. She is a health and wellness coach,  a certified nutrition coach, and a fitness expert. The question today is how did Anne find her passion to help others in such a beneficial way.

I was also able to host a group of boys that met every week to play flag football. Colin was a big part of that group. And I was a guest on Colin's podcast called "Ballin' with Colin."

ROSS HAMMOND is an ultra-talented musician. He is quite accomplished. Since 2003, Hammond has been putting out records either as a solo artist or part of a project. I counted 17. That my friends is impressive. He has done tours, but the music lifestyle of Hammond isn't anything like you might envision. It's clear that Ross did it his way. Might be the recipe for a young musician out there listening.

In today's episode of Experience the Buzz, Host Steve Buzzard catches up with Hammond "Ross and I are friends through basketball, but I never have had the chance to know his story until today. His take on music and the life he has been able to live through it is fascinating."  Our conversation hits three areas: 

• SEGMENT 1 🪕  kicks off with Hammond's childhood in Kentucky that eventually led to his move to California with his mom (a la Karate Kid). Ross talks about getting his first guitar and how his love for music slowly grew throughout his teenage years.

Our Connection |  I met Ross when his daughter Lola attended my basketball camp when she was in Kindergarten (she is now in 6th Grade). I have watched Lola grow up through the game and have enjoyed seeing Ross being able to coach his daughter.

ERIC HASSELTINE is living his dream. He is one of 30 radio announcers in the NBA. That's an amazing accomplishment. On top of that, he has not missed a game since taking over the job in 2005. Yes ... he essentially is the Cal Ripken of NBA Radio Play-By-Play Announcers. Hasseltine, who went to De La Salle High School and later UC Davis is definitely known in the area. And we are cheering for his success. How he got to Memphis is an incredible story you have to hear. And that will happen in today's Talking Story!

In today's episode of Experience the Buzz, Host Steve Buzzard and Hasseltine get reacquainted. It's been a long time. "When we both were doing play-by-play for UC Davis football in the 90's , it was pretty evident that Eric was talented. Seeing him where he is today in life is no surprise at all"  Our conversation hits four areas: 

• SEGMENT 1 🏀  starts by going back in time to talk about Eric's days at UC Davis as the sports director at KDVS (the student-run station at UC Davis). We also dive into Eric's journey in Memphis that started with a phone call on 9/11.

A lot was going on in Eric's life leading up to this emotional moment in 2005. You will get to know the influence that Don Poier had in Eric's life as a person and a broadcaster.

Our Connection |  Back in the mid-90's I was the voice of UC Davis Football on Sports 1140 KHTK. Eric was the sports director for KDVS, which was the student-run station on campus. Eric took off for Memphis in 2001 to chase his dream. He caught it and then some.

BRIAN KATZ knew he could coach basketball forever. He also knew that he had to listen to what others were telling him. Ultimately, the basketball mastermind made the decision. It was time to retire and see what life was about without the rigors of his life as a basketball coach.e  So he said good-bye to Sac State Basketball, which represented 14 of his 45 years coaching the game of basketball. Good news is that after a month of transition, I think Katz is happy with his decision. We get to hear about it today.

In today's episode of Experience the Buzz, Host Steve Buzzard catches up with his retired friend "Nobody will fully comprehend what Brian Katz has meant to the basketball community. I appreciate the insight that Brian delivers when it comes to describing life as a basketball coach. Be ready to be slapped upside the head with wisdom."  Our conversation hits four areas:

MIKE STEEZE is his most common name. "Steeze," "M. Anthony," "Tony" (from the friends in the Sandbox), "Tony Ranger," "Mike Ranger," "Bama (like Bomb-uh)," Lil' Tony are other names that have represented this 27-year old entrepreneur. He spent 15 years in foster care. He is a single father to his beautiful daughter Adelle. All of that is part of his story. He embraces it and with it he draws power to make a difference. THE CAUSEWAY CLASSIC has produced some memorable games between its participants, UC Davis and Sac State. In 2021, the 67th Causeway Classic may be the biggest showdown in the history of the rivalry. Both teams are 8-2. The winner will probably receive a first-round bye in the upcoming playoffs while the loser will have to go on the road as a lower seed with a much steeper hill to climb.

In today's episode of Experience the Buzz, Host Steve Buzzard decided to bring the radio personalities of each school together to have a Causeway Classic Round Table. And that we did. Representing UC Davis (who will be the home team for the 2021 battle) is Scott Marsh and Doug Kelly. And representing Hornets radio is Jason Ross and Steve McElroy. There are a lot of years between this quartet when it comes to broadcasting football games. 

• SEGMENT 1 🏈  takes a look at the history of the rivalry as well as a preview of what is expected in the 2021 version of the Causeway Classic.
• SEGMENT 2 🏈  is dedicated to life in the broadcast booth. Some things are shared that you may not have known in regards to subjects like preparation, game day, etc. Some great insight from the guys. 
• SEGMENT 3 🏈 is dedicated to the memories shared by the five of us over the course of what has been almost 30 combined years of broadcasting college football in the Sacramento and Davis region.

Our Connection |  These guys are my friends. I had the honor of being the Voice of UC Davis Aggie Football for 14 years. Scott Marsh took over my spot and has carried the torch for 15 years while DK has had to endure us both for a total of close to 30 years. On the flip side, Ross and McElroy have been together since Day One when they first started broadcasting Sac State Football 26 years ago. Impressive!

ERIC + EMILY HAYS are the owners of Chateau Davell Winery in El Dorado County. So how does this couple set themselves apart from the over 1700 wineries that exist in the state of California? Small batch sustainable wines made with LOVE. Couldn't have said it any better. The Hays are considered the "GREENEST WINERY AROUND." The winery is 100 percent sustainable. Our Connection |  I had the honor of being the DJ for a wedding that was being held at Chateau Davell Winery. As I was setting up, I slowly was able to meet the entire family from Eric + Emily, their kids, and Eric's parents that included his mom Davell (whom the winery is named after). On my way to the bathroom, I saw some articles on Eric and the winery and it said he was from Sacramento. Boom 💥 ... I knew he and Emily had to be my next guest! So glad it worked out.
