Another homicide in Glen Burnie. A school employee brings loaded handgun to campus. Free gun locks at the Anne Arundel County Library. The garage is still on schedule and they are wrapping up construction. The cost of mailing a letter will go up on July 9th. The Commanders have likely been sold!!!! We have a discount code for the Annapolis Irish Festival which is coming up on May 6th. And this weekend there is plenty to do with the Bay Bridge Boat Show, the Blue Ribbon Project family fun day and open house, the Remembering the Old Fourth Ward tribute ceremony, and the annual croquet match between the Academy and the Johnnies!

Police are investigating an ax attack and a shooting where they have a victim but no crime scene. Someone is vandalizing Tyler Heights Elementary School and the school has videos, now they need your help. The last day of school is June 13th for most. Annapolis hired another Assistant City Manager and she starts today. Sine Die and the legislators are leaving. Here are the biggest issues of this session that will be signed into law by Governor Moore. Maryland's Poet Laureate is performing at Eastport's St Luke's Earth Day and the Arts Festival on the 22nd. And Main Street dynamo, Kim Hovell is celebrating 10 years and will host a celebration on the 20th from 6 pm to 9 pm. There are some businesses and organizations that should not exist. And The Blue Ribbon Project is one of them. 

It's unfortunate that child abuse, in all forms, is a problem in our society, and the pathway through foster care is a difficult one. Here is where The Blue Ribbon Project comes into play.

Taylor Pyles is the founder and a product of the foster care system in Maryland. He walked the walk, and now he's talking the talk. From Backpacks of Love which give children some basic possessions they need, to resources, to Mirah's Closet which allows foster children to "shop" for clothing, to outings and events. The Blue Ribbon Project wants to make a horrible situation as good as possible. 

It's a sobering conversation with some startling information and statistics. 

Like all non-profits, they can use help. Volunteer. Donate--cash or items to be placed in a backpack. Sponsor.  Please do what you can. We owe it to these children!
