Wait: Purpose in Patience

Spending a single night in the emergency room provided such clarity about our need to wait patiently on the Lord, as there is purpose in our patience. The waiting room experience is two-fold; it teaches us to be patient while we wait, and in those hours, we are reminded that we are most Blessed and Highly Favored. In the ER we see so many real people, who spend their lives waiting for the bare necessities that we oftentimes take for granted. During the long hours that we wait, God allows us to witness the least of us, who would feel privileged to endure our issues. Spending time in the ER reminds us well, that we could have, should have and would have been in the same predicaments of the downtrodden, but for the grace and mercy of God. The same strengthens our Blessed reassurance, that if He has not already answered, if God has not yet shown up to resolve it, He will. In the meantime, wait patiently, as there is purpose in patience. ‘Wait, I say, on the Lord!’
