Hello hello and welcome back to Home Sweet Homemaking, I feel like it has been ages. I am still on a Holy Spirit High and I have been allowing the Holy Spirit to lead me in these episodes. With that being said my goal is that you find value in these episodes and that you are able to enjoy the conversations that we have here. Today I want to talk about mentorship and my experience with it thus far, I haven't been in a mentorship program before, I thought I was but then when I came into this program I can see that I clearly haven't. So today we talk about that and also I'm sharing just my thoughts and hearts on motherhood and marriage and how that all goes together in life.
I know there is ALOT going on in this one, but I promise you it's A LOT of great things that God is bringing to my heart for you ladies. so please enjoy!
RECAP
S1E009: You are enough!
Isaiah 1:19: For if you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land.
you don't have to be perfect you just need to be willing and obedient to Christ as you go and the rest will work out in God's timing. Trusting in Him through it all.
Scriptures in today's episode:
Proverbs 31: 11-12: Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life. she brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.
Proverbs 31: 25-26: She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness.
Proverbs 31:27-28: She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness. Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her.
I encourage you to read Proverbs 31 not as a comparison to ourselves but as a promise from God that this is who he created us to be we have access to this, we just need to ask for it boldly to be the women he created us to be.

Hello hello and welcome back to home sweet home making, as always my name is Uilani Kumuhone and today’s episode we are going to be talking about some pretty big things, but before we get into all of that I just want to remind you that here on the podcast if your not familiar we talk about all things as a homemaker, and no haven’t talked about anything physical in the role of a homemaker yet, but we have been focusing on the spiritual, emotional and mental side of being a home maker because if your listening im sure you know and understand the hard mental and emotional work it takes to be a homemaker its so much more then cooking, cleaning and all the other fabulous things that we do every single day; so this epidote is no different we are still on our emotional, mental and spiritual journey here on the podcast and God has not since lead me into another route so I am going to continue to follow Gods lead and whatever he brings to me to talk about here on the episode I know is important for everyone including me so here we are. But I really do hope and pray that any if not all of the episodes do bring you to value and encouragement to your role as a homemaker because I know that I need these times to let loose and have really good conversations with other women who understand and know what I do and can just continue on in conversation with me because I do feel really good to just have good conversations and that’s my goal here good, meaningful christ filled conversations with women (or men) like you! So thanks so much for being here!
So before we jump into this awesome episode we need to first do our re-cap of the previous episode to kind of just give you guys an idea of what that was incased you missed it, or if you tuned in just remind you of our convo and maybe spark more encouragement.
Re-cap of the last Ep
-Tittle: E:006- The Silent Enemy in Our Lives.
-Key points: Telling ourselves these beliefs that basically limit our physical ability in our everyday lives because it literally causes us to stay in the “box” that we put ourselves in.
-fear (biggest trigger to a limiting belief)
-1 Timothy 1:6-7: This is why I remind you to fan into the flames the spiritual gifts God gave you when I laid my hands on you. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity but of power, love, and self-discipline
Scriptures from today's episode:
Esther 4:14
Esther 5: 2-4
Esther 8:3-7
Isaish41:10: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
James 1:5: If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
Tips
Pray
Filter all of your opportunities through the eyes of Christ
If you know God is calling you to ask him for the strength and wisdom to do it
Isaish41:10: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Hello hello and welcome back to the show, If you are new to the podcast welcome, here Is where we hang out and talk stories about all kinds of stuff, lately we've been focusing on the deeper stuff that lives within our hearts or hearts as homemakers, we haven’t done much like physical homemaking stuff, but I'm still settling into my new home and am definitely not ready to start talking about all of it. But I love to talk about things that I feel will bring encouragement and clarity to our lives as homemakers, the world has grown so much and I like to keep up with the times but also I like some things of the past that I think just make sense even today. But I hope that you enjoy the show and if you do at the end I’ll tell you exactly what you need to do and how to do it.. but for now let's jump into our re-cap I just wanted to let you all know just how much I appreciate each of you and welcome to everyone who is new.
Re-cap of the last Ep
-Title: Words for Life
-What it was about: it was basically about three very important words that I have grown to know and understand and even appreciate in my life. One was a word for the year, the next was a word for my life and last was a word that God has spoken over me since I was a little girl.
-Key points: the three words are THRIVE: the word for my year, JOY: my life word, and last PEACEMAKER: the name God has called me throughout my life.
Three tips:
1. pray
2. Look back through your life and find that consistent positive thing that is you
3. start looking at yourself through the lens of beauty. start finding those things for yourself that you know God has given to you, Blessed you with.
As always these are not solid, must do steps to get these, these are basically what I do and what helped me to find these words that I shared above. The words that I live by and the ones that will carry me through the Course of my life.
Limiting beliefs (and I found this on google on a site called Asana.) is “A state of mind or belief about yourself that restricts you in some way.”
Here are some of the limiting beliefs that I could resonate with during that training.
“I can’t do it”
“If my husband doesn't support me I can’t be successful”
“I can’t be in business and in family, I have to pick one”
1 Timothy 1:6-7: This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline (other translations “A sound mind”)
Tips
1.Pray: Ask God to help you figure out what are those limiting beliefs that you hold on to in your mind
2. write them down so you can see them. And then go back into prayer and give them to God
3. change the wording around and instead of saying the negative change it into a positive statement to start saying it to yourself each day
4. create a daily mantra or affirmation statement to say to yourself each day it doesn't have to be fancy or perfect it just has to be where you can understand what it is.

Hello Hello,
Welcome back to another episode of Home Sweet Homemaking as always I am Uilani Kumuhone and I am so excited to be back on the podcast! Today I want to talk about three major words in our lives first our life word, what word will be your word for your entire life? I know pretty heavy right?? well it really doesn't have to be, next is your word for your year, what for this year is that word that you will refer back to when you are in the middle of a tough decision, what will kind of guide you to those moments or even through those moments in your year? and then lastly the name/purpose God has given to you, who has he called you in your life till today?
I know all of these things are crazy and cannot be talked about all in one episode, well I promise you that God has been speaking to you on it you just have to open your heart and mind up to what he is telling you.
so join me and let us see how we can figure out these Words for Life! Your LIFE

5. Trust Him with every outcome and temptation in your life because then you’ll know both times you’ll be getting the most perfect plan in your life. No matter what
My LIFE word: JOY: John 5:11: I [Jesus] have told you these things so that my joy may be in you, and your joy may be complete.
my word for 2022: THRIVE: Hebrew 11:6: And without faith, it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him

Hello hello and welcome back to another episode of the Home Sweet Homemaking podcast. If it's your first time, hello and welcome I am so happy that you're joining us today. Today I want to talk about our Expectations and our Temptations; Why? well because we all have them and depending on how we set up our expectations in our mind and what kinds of temptations that is in our lives it can cause us a lot of stress, disappointment and failure ultimately, but luckily we are not alone in our struggle, God understands us 100% in our "humanity". He not only understands but he offers us an escape from our temptations and he will guide our steps in the midst of our high expectations that can cause us to "drift" from where God actually needs us to be. Today I want to focus on these two things to help us bring clarity and comfort to our struggles.
Expectations scriptures
Proverbs 16:9: The heart of men plans his way but the Lord establishes his steps. (ESV)
(NLT) Within your heart, you can make plans for your future, but the Lord chooses the steps you take to get there.
Psalm 37:5&23: (NLT) commit everything you do to the Lord trust him and he will help you.
Psalm 37:23: (NLT) The Lord directs the steps of the godly He delights in every detail of their lives.
Temptations scriptures
Matthew 24:44: Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit is indeed willing, but the flesh is weak (ESV)
(NLT) Keep alert and pray that you’ll be spared from this time of testing. Your Spirit is eager enough but your humanity is weak.
1 Corinthians 10:13: No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation, he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
Matthew 6;24: No one can serve two masters for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.
Tips
• Pray
• Start training your mind not to expect anything its hard but its possible
• Know what your temptations are, sit down write them out and see what they are
• Don’t be ashamed or feel guilty (NLT Matthew 26:44) “humanity” we are all human and this happens we are tempted with all of these things.
• Trust Him with every outcome and temptation in your life because then you’ll know both times you’ll be getting the most perfect plan in your life. No matter what
** Special announcement
-after my last episode Ep003: First Time Home Buyer overview, buying a house in Hawaii through DHHL tells ALL
• I was asked to join the two realtors that I mention in that episode Hal Wilkerson and Pumehana Palmer to talk more about the Hawaiian Homes process on Hal’s YouTube channel Hawaii Property Advisors.
• His channel focuses on Real estate in Hawaii, he talks about real estate trends, the trait of real estate, he does videos to help first-time home buyers, and its just so much great content to get a hold of.

Hello hello and welcome back to Home Sweet Homemaking a podcast for homemakers of many kinds to come and connect and discuss and laugh all while being encouraged in your role as a homemaker.
We are on our 3rd episode of HomeSweet Homemaking and if you totally confused because you remember it from Faith in Between go back and listen to the intro episode of this one as well as my goodbye episode of faith in between to get up to speed.
Re-cap: ep. 002 Being a Homemaker in A Home that isn’t Yours
-Living in a multi-generational home comes with its challenges especially when you have your own full family as I did
-I gave some ground rules that I felt will help to ease some of the stress and differences that we all face in a multi-generational home setting
1. Let all that you do be one in Love. 1 Corinthians 16:4
2. There are things that we will need to let go of and move on from whether
we like it or not
3. There will be a lot of compromising and you need to be ready for it 4. It is ultimately the other person's home and we need to think about how we expect others to respect us in our own home if it were the other way around.

#1. Let it be the word of God!
#2. Let it be things that match your lifestyle and interest
#3. Let it be things that allow you to dream
Why being a homemaker in a home that isn’t yours is difficult
- everyone has different styles of living
• Home design
• Home rules
• Daily routines
• Even things like how they do their laundry or wash their dishes
• What they like to eat
• How they like to clean
• When they like to clean
• Who is allowed to come over
• What is allowed to happen
• What types of food they allow in their house
• Etc.
Ground Rules:
I had a great time today on the show, thank you for stopping by and spending time with me. Our next episode is on February 1, 2022, where I will be talking about my experience as a first-time home buyer in Hawaii dealing with the Department of Hawaiian homes from start to finish. I think it will be such a helpful episode for those of you who are unsure how to start or where to start, I want to talk about what I learned about with the Department of Hawaiian Homelands for those of you hoping to buy with Hawaiian homelands in the future. Plus give you all the people who were involved professionally in our home buys journey so that you folks can use them if you are interested. So all the juicy stuff next episode.
Thank you so much again for being here today remember to keep showing up for your purposed role as a homemaker and watch God show off in your life. Till next time, bye.
