Leviticus 9:22-24
In the Outer Court stands the Brazen Altar — the place of sacrifice. Aaron lifts his hands and blesses the people. Then something supernatural happens: the glory of the Lord appears and fire falls!2. THE FIRE THAT ONLY GOD COULD SEND
When the high priest went into the Most Holy Place once a year to offer blood for atonement, God answered. Fire came from God and consumed the offering to ashes.History tells us:

• Josephus said the fire sparked from inside the sacrifice itself.
• Some believe it fell from heaven.
• That holy fire was preserved — never allowed to go out. They used it to light the candlesticks in the Holy Place. It stayed burning until Solomon’s Temple, when fire fell again!

• His offering COMPLETES us.
• The work is FINISHED!

That fire was like salt — seasoning the sacrifice for God. It was God’s sign: “I accept this.”3. WARNING: BE CAREFUL OF STRANGE FIRE
Leviticus 10:1-2
Nadab and Abihu offered strange fire — fire God didn’t send — and died.
Immediately after, God warns Moses in Leviticus 16:1-2: You can’t come into the Most Holy Place any time you want. Only once a year. Only with blood. Leviticus 16:14 — blood on the mercy seat, the lid of the Ark, which is God’s throne on earth.4. FOR A WHOLE YEAR, SINS WERE REMOVED
Hebrews 10:1-2, Hebrews 10:12-14
For a year, Israel could stand before God as if sinless. But it had to be repeated. Again and again. It could never make them perfect.5. JESUS DID IT ONCE — AND FINISHED ITNumbers 19:2, Hebrews 9:14, Ephesians 5:25-27, Acts 22:16
That blood taken from the altar where the sacrifice died and brought onto the mercy seat was a SUBSTITUTIONARY DEATH. Jesus became our substitute.6. IT WAS THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB

It is because of atonement that we are made kings and priests!
Sin caused Adam to lose his dominion as king. When Jesus washed our sins away, He fully restored us to Adam’s dominion before the fall.

As earthquakes shake Venezuela and Colombia, the cry is the same: “Run to the safety place!”
And in every crisis, one name escapes every mouth: “Oh my God, Oh my God!”But what if God wants to take you higher before the flood comes?This powerful message from Psalm 61:2 — “When my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I” — is a call to step out of ordinary, low-level living and into the higher dimension God has for you.1. WHAT IS HIGHER GROUND?
Higher ground means to gain in worth, stature, and height. To have your coast enlarged. To have your status changed for the better.
Anyone who ascends to higher ground rises above regular living to become “extraordinary.”
1 Samuel 17:50 — David on higher ground over Goliath.
1 Kings 5:4 — Solomon on higher ground: “The LORD hath given me rest on every side.”2. THE PICTURE OF HIGHER GROUND: THE TABERNACLE
Think of Israel in the wilderness: The Tabernacle dwelling in the midst of the 12 tribes.
Set apart. Elevated. Holy.
Three parts: Outer Court, Holy Place, Holy of Holies.
Picture the High Priest carrying blood and incense in Leviticus 16:13 into the presence of God.
Higher ground is not just a place of safety — it’s a place of God’s presence.3. THERE IS A HIGHER DIMENSION IN GOD
There is more than where you are right now:

• A higher dimension of His grace,
• A higher dimension of His favor,
• A higher dimension of His power,
• A higher dimension of His glory,
• A higher dimension of His blessings, and
• A higher dimension of His purity and perfection.
  Psalm 42:1-5 — “As the hart panteth after the water brooks…”
  Illustration: The story of Genelle Gusman-McMillan — the last survivor pulled from the 9/11 rubble after 27 hours. When everything collapses around you, God still has higher ground.

4. HOW TO CLIMB: YOU NEED DOGGED FAITH AND PATIENCE
You don’t stumble onto higher ground. You climb to it.
Hebrews 10:36 — “Ye have need of patience.”
2 Peter 3:8-9 — God is never late.
What you need is dogged faith: a stubborn, unyielding trust that refuses to give up, even when heaven seems silent.
Look at the woman with the issue of blood and the centurion in Matthew 8:5-13 — both pressed through and stepped into higher ground because they wouldn’t quit.5. HIGHER GROUND OFTEN COMES THROUGH THE WILDERNESS
God’s Training School for higher ground may not be pleasant, but the results are always perfect.
Character is earned in the process.
Before the height, there is the wilderness.
Before the crown, there is the crushing.Psalm 61:2 — “Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”
Habakkuk 3:19 — “The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places.”Final Challenge:
God isn’t calling you to stay in the flood plain.

Opening Connection: The Battle Within Before we dive into the ultimate battle of Armageddon, let’s take a moment to reflect on the smaller battles we face in our own lives. Every day, we encounter struggles—temptations, challenges, and conflicts. But through it all, we know that victory is assured in Christ. Activity: Think about a current challenge or temptation you are facing. It could be a personal struggle, a decision you’re weighing, or something in the world around you that feels overwhelming. Now, reflect on this question: How does the assurance of Christ’s victory over evil give you strength in your personal battles today? Let’s take a moment to share, if anyone feels led, and then we’ll see how the ultimate victory of Christ impacts not just our future, but our present as well.

1.  The Prophetic Word: The Battle of Armageddon Foretold.

Discussion:

The Battle of Armageddon is a future event prophesied in both the Old and New Testaments. Zechariah speaks of God gathering nations to fight against Jerusalem, but it is Jesus Christ who will ultimately fight on behalf of His people. Revelation 16:16 brings the focus to the final gathering of the nations for the battle. The book of Revelation describes Christ riding on a white horse, victorious and righteous, bringing judgment upon the wicked and defeating the forces of evil.

Discussion Questions:

● What does the term "Armageddon" mean, and how does its significance affect our understanding of the final battle?

● How does Zechariah’s prophecy connect with the vision in Revelation? ● Why is it important to remember that Christ is the one who will bring victory over the forces of evil?  

2.  The Forces of Evil: The Beast and the False Prophet.

Revelation 13:11-12; 19:19; 16:13-14

Discussion:

The forces of evil in the Battle of Armageddon are led by the Beast (the Antichrist), the False Prophet, and Satan (the Dragon). These entities will deceive the nations, leading them into rebellion against God. Revelation 13 speaks of the rise of the beast and the false prophet, who will perform signs and wonders to convince the world to follow them. The world will be gathered for the final battle, which will be a showdown between the forces of evil and the army of Christ.

3.  Christ’s Ultimate Victory: The Final Judgment.

    Revelation 19:11-15; Revelation 19:20; Revelation 20:10 

Discussion:

Christ’s victory in the Battle of Armageddon is assured. Revelation       19 describes Christ returning to the earth on a white horse, with His eyes like a flame of fire, to judge and wage war against the forces of evil. The Beast and the False Prophet will be captured and thrown into the lake of fire, along with Satan. Christ’s victory will bring an end to evil once and for all, and He will reign as King overall.

Discussion Questions:

● What do we learn from Revelation 19 about Christ’s nature and    authority in the battle against evil?   

● How does the final judgment of the Beast, the False Prophet, and Satan assure us of God’s ultimate justice? ● How should the reality of Christ’s victory impact how we live today?

4.  The Hope of Believers: Sharing in Christ's Victory.

● Revelation 17:14; ● Romans 8:37; ● 1 John 5:4

Discussion:

As believers, we share in Christ’s victory over evil. Revelation 17:14 reminds us that those who are with Christ—the called, chosen, and faithful—will overcome the enemy with Him. Romans 8:37 says that we are more than conquerors through Christ’s love. Our faith in Jesus ensures that we too will overcome the world and all of its temptations and trials, including the deceptions of the last days. This is a hope we can hold on to as we await Christ’s return.

But there is only ONE NAME that gives hope to the hopeless, strength to the weak, forgiveness to the sinner, freedom to the captive, and salvation to the lost.THAT NAME IS JESUS.In this powerful sermon, we dive into Philippians 2:9–11:

1. JESUS — THE NAME OF THE CREATOR
   Jesus didn’t start in Bethlehem. He is God manifested in flesh.
   John 1:1-3, Colossians 1:16, Isaiah 9:6
   He is not a secondary figure. He is the Creator who stepped into creation.
2. ONE GOD, ONE REVEALED NAME
   Matthew 28:19 says “in the name”—singular—of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
   Father, Son, and Holy Spirit describe how God reveals Himself.
   The saving Name revealed is JESUS. John 14:9, Colossians 2:9
   That’s why the apostles baptized “in the name of Jesus Christ.” Acts 2:38
   We do not worship three gods. We worship one God revealed in Jesus Christ.
3. THE NAME OF JESUS IS OUR INHERITANCE
   Romans 8:17, Ephesians 1:11
   In Christ we inherit: Salvation. Forgiveness. Peace. The Holy Spirit. Access to God. Authority in prayer. Victory. Eternal life.
   The power already belongs to Him. And we are joint-heirs with Him.
4. HOW TO ACTIVATE THE NAME
   Saying “In Jesus’ Name” isn’t enough. The Name works through relationship.
5. THE NAME THAT SETS FREE
   Acts 16:18. The same Name that cast out demons then is still casting out bondage today.
   Ephesians 6:10: “Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”
   The battle belongs to the Lord.
6. JESUS IS OUR EVERYTHING
   Whatever you need today — it’s found in Christ.
   One day: Every knee will bow. Every tongue will confess. Every kingdom will acknowledge.
   JESUS CHRIST IS LORD!

Church, don’t bury the Name. Don’t hide the Name. Don’t treat the Name as ordinary.

1. Why do we forget what Jesus has done and fail to apply it to today?
   We forget testimonies. We let today’s problem feel bigger than God’s past faithfulness.
2. Why does Jesus require us to ask before He acts?
   James 4:2-3: “You do not have because you do not ask.”
   Asking builds dependence, humility, and relationship. God wants us to invite Him in, not live in prideful independence.

• Healing: Acts 3:6 - “In the name of Jesus Christ... rise up and walk.”
• Deliverance: Mark 16:17 - “In my name they will cast out demons.”
• Victory: Luke 10:17 - Demons submitted in His Name.
• Mission: Luke 24:47-49 - The gospel is proclaimed in His Name to all nations.

The answer: Power, authority, and access.1. EDIFICATION: STOP STRUGGLING IN YOUR OWN POWER | Mark 6:45-52Jesus found the disciples rowing hard against the wind. They were exhausted and afraid.
Application: What are you trying to fix on your own? Your finances, marriage, anxiety, addiction?
Jesus was already coming to them, but they had to recognize Him and let Him in the boat.
Truth: “Ask, and it will be given to you” Matthew 7:7. “You do not have, because you do not ask.” James 4:2
Call: Stop striving. Stop long enough to ask Jesus to save you from the mess you’re in.2. DISCUSSION: WHY IT’S HARD TO ASK | James 4:2-3Two questions for reflection:3.
