It’s easy to look godly on Sundays. But who are you on Monday? When the lights are off, the mics are down, and nobody is watching?

In this bible study on Titus 1:16 and 2 Timothy 3:5, we’re looking at a hard but loving warning from Paul: “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”

This isn’t about condemnation. It’s about examination. Because God sees it all.

Here’s what we unpack:

1. Who Are You When Nobody Is Watching?
   God knows your public life AND your private life. Psalm 139:1-3 — He knows when you sit, when you stand, your thoughts, your prayers, your struggles.
   Judas walked with Jesus for 3.5 years. He heard the sermons. He saw the miracles. But greed slowly consumed him. He professed to know God, but his works denied Him Titus 1:16. The question isn’t just “Do you know about God?” It’s “Does God know you?”
2. Who Are You When The Service Is Over?
   It’s easy to shout “Hallelujah!” at church, at conferences, with believers around.
   But what about at the grocery store? At the birthday party? At work? At home with family?
   Being a Christian isn’t a Sunday dress you put on and take off. Luke 9:23 — “Deny yourself, take up your cross daily, and follow me.” #FollowJesusDaily
   2 Cor 3:2-3: “You are a letter of Christ, known and read by all people.” People are watching. Are they seeing Jesus in you?
3. Who Are You Before Jesus?
   2 Corinthians 13:5: “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith.”
   Matthew 7:21-23 is sobering: “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name?” And Jesus says, “I never knew you.”
   You can have ministry, perfect attendance, and gifting — but without intimacy and obedience, it’s just a form of godliness 2 Tim 3:5.
   The rich young ruler kept the commandments, but he couldn’t give up everything to follow Jesus Mark 10:17-22. Who are you?

The Real Truth: The devil doesn’t care if you go to church if you’re not praying. He wants you distracted, comfortable, and putting off repentance for “later.” But walking with God is serious. Prayer, the Word, holiness — these are not optional.

The Good News: Jesus is still calling. 1 John 1:9 — “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us.”
As Leonard Ravenhill’s tombstone asks: “Are the things you are living for worth Christ dying for?”

This message is a mirror. Let’s stop living for things that burn and start living for the One who died so we could truly live. #JesusSaves

Come listen, be convicted, and be restored. Because Jesus is saying tonight: “My son, my daughter, I know you and I love you.”

God rarely sends a heavenly chariot. More often, He sends a friend. A word. A step. A mustard seed.

In this message from 2 Corinthians 7:5-7, we’re reminded that the Christian life is both miraculous and mundane. Paul was crushed with trouble in Macedonia 2 Cor 11:23-28, and what comforted him wasn’t fireworks — it was the arrival of Titus v6-7.

Here’s what we cover:

1. God’s Packages Are Plainly Wrapped
   We wait for the big miracle, but God works through small acts. A phone call. A text. “Do you have words that will help your brother and sister today?” v6-7. Encouragement is ministry.
2. The Teaching of Jesus on Small Things
   Luke 16:10: “Faithful in little, faithful in much.”
   Matthew 13:31-32: The Kingdom is like a mustard seed — tiny, but it grows.
   Matthew 17:20: Faith as small as a mustard seed moves mountains.
   God isn’t impressed by size. He’s looking for faithfulness.
3. Caution: The Power of a Little Word
   James 3:5: “How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire!”
   The Great Chicago Fire of 1871 started when a cow kicked over a lamp in Mrs. O’Leary’s barn. One twitch. One flame. Millions in damage.
   The deadliest animal isn’t a lion. It’s neglect in the little things.
4. The Danger of Little Sins
   David fell by a look. Samson fell by lust. Judas fell by greed.
   Big falls almost always start with small compromises. Don’t despise the small areas.
5. God Uses Ordinary Things
   Moses and a shepherd’s staff.
   Elisha healing Naaman because a little Jewish girl spoke up.
   Shamgar defeating 600 Philistines with a farmer’s goad Judges 3:31.
   When God is Lord of the ordinary, there is no limit to the ordinary.
6. Conclusion: One Small Step
   Five loaves and two fish fed multitudes.
   One cry from a blind man brought sight.
   One step of faith can trigger a miracle.
   The Niagara Falls bridge didn’t start with steel cables. It started with a kite string.

Bottom Line: Don’t wait for the spectacular. Be faithful in the small. God specializes in taking little things and doing big things with them.

Learning To Trust God - Wednesday Bible Study July 8, 2026

The moment you think you’ve “arrived” is the moment growth stops.

In this message on Matthew 11:25-30 and 1 John 2:22-23, we’re reminded that the most accomplished people are often the ones who stay teachable. God isn’t looking for people who know everything. He’s looking for people who still ask “WHY?” like little children.

Here’s what we unpack:

1. Keep Your Wonder – Matt 11:25. Jesus prayed and thanked the Father that the Kingdom is hidden from the “wise and intelligent” and revealed to little children. The tragedy isn’t losing intelligence with age. It’s losing wonder. Jesus prayed at least 34 distinct times Heb 5:7 — He modeled a life of dependence.
2. Learn From Me – Matt 11:29. Jesus didn’t just teach, He demonstrated. John 1:1, 14 shows us the Word became flesh.
   The 7 Miracles prove His power: Water to wine, healing the official’s son, Bethesda, feeding 5,000, walking on water, healing the blind man, raising Lazarus.
   The 7 “I AM” statements reveal His identity: Bread of Life, Light of the World, Door, Good Shepherd, Resurrection & Life, Way/Truth/Life, True Vine. We’re still learning who He is.
3. Knowledge vs. Teachability – 1 John 2:22-23, Rom 8:5-6. You can have remarkable knowledge and still be closed to the Spirit. Another can have little status but a heart that’s open and responsive. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.
4. The Invitation – Matt 11:28-30, Isa 53:5-8. “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me.” His yoke is easy and His burden is light. The cross shows us what learning from Jesus really looks like: humility, sacrifice, surrender.

Bottom Line: Be a constant student. At 70 or 17, we’re all still learning. Still learning His miracles. Still learning His “I AMs.” Still learning His heart. Zech 9:9, Matt 21:1-10 — He’s the humble King, and He’s calling you to come.

The enemy writes your story in lowercase: failure, addiction, rejection, dead. But GOD! writes it in ALL CAPS.

In this sermon we camp on Ephesians 2:1-4, Proverbs 16:18, and the stories of those who should’ve been finished... but weren’t.

Here’s what we cover:

1. Where You Were – Eph 2:1-3, 1 Cor 6:9-11, Prov 14:12. “Dead in trespasses and sins.” Following the course of this world. Saul persecuting the church Acts 22:4-5. The enemy had a plan: destroy, shame, cancel. Proverbs 16:18 warns: pride comes before destruction.
2. But GOD! – Eph 2:4. Two words that change everything. When you were dead, God made you alive. When you were lost, Christ stood at the door and knocked Rev 3:20. When you were broken, 2 Cor 5:17: you became a new creation.
3. Testimonies That Prove It:
   David – Psalm 124: “If it had not been the LORD... the enemy would have swallowed us alive. But GOD!”
   Jacob – Wrestled, limped, but left blessed.
   Joseph – Genesis 50:20: “You meant evil against me, but GOD meant it for good.” Betrayed, sold, imprisoned... then promoted to save nations.
4. The Shift – The enemy meant for evil: to bury you. God meant it for glory: to build you. What was supposed to kill your faith is now your testimony.

Bottom Line: (Sis. make this word BIG... so BIG) BUT GOD!
Your past doesn’t disqualify you. Your pit becomes your pulpit. The plot the enemy wrote gets rewritten by Heaven.

Stuck living under a label someone gave you? In 1 Chronicles 4:9-10, one name breaks through a boring genealogy: Jabez. His story proves it—your past does not get the final word.

In this sermon we unpack:

1 Honor Your Fathers – We start with Matt 6:9, Isa 9:6, John 8:58, Ex 20:12. There’s power in hearing your Father’s voice. Like the modern parable of faith says: “1. I will never leave you 2. You can ask me anything 3. Listen only to the sound of my voice.” That’s exactly how Jabez came to God.

2 From Pain to Prayer – “His mother called him Jabez, saying, ‘Because I bore him with sorrow.’” 1 Chron 4:9. He was named after trauma. But Jabez chose prayer over complaint. He didn’t accept the story written on his birth certificate.

3 The 4-Part Prayer That Moved Heaven – 1 Chron 4:10 Bless me → Enlarge my coast → Let Your hand be with me → Keep me from evil. Result: “And God granted his request.” Heaven still answers bold, believing prayer.

4 The Rhythm of Jabez’s Life: Pain → Prayer → Faith → Enlargement → Dependence → Holiness. He didn’t just want more territory—he wanted God’s hand with him and protection from evil.

The Takeaway: Your past does not control your future. Prayer changes circumstances. God can enlarge your influence. His presence is greater than His gifts. And holiness must walk with blessing.
