“Unbothered” sounds like peace.
But what if being “unbothered” is actually the problem?In a world that’s confused, perplexed, and without direction — is the Church calm because we’re trusting God...
Or because we’ve stopped caring?In this powerful message from Amos 6:1, 4-7, we’re confronted with the same warning God gave to Israel in the 8th century BC. And it’s just as relevant today.Here’s what we unpack:

1. What The World Is Missing
   We live in a bewildered world.
   ● A world bogged down in confusion
   ● A world where marriage is mocked
   ● A world that puts “In God We Trust” on coins, yet kicks God’s Word out of its halls
   The lostness of man is heart-rending and mind-boggling. And God is looking for people who are bothered by it.
2. The Message of Amos: A Shepherd with a Burden
   Amos wasn’t a professional prophet. He was a shepherd and fig farmer from Judah.
   But God sent him north to Bethel to:
   · Condemn social injustice and the oppression of the poor
   · Denounce religious hypocrisy - empty rituals without righteousness
   · Warn of coming judgment if the nation didn’t repent
   Amos 6:1 “Woe to those who are at ease in Zion...” Amos 5:24 “Let justice roll down like waters”
3. The Danger of an Unbothered Priesthood
   Example: Eli. 1 Samuel 3:13
   He was sitting at the post of the temple watching Hannah pray.
   But he was unbothered by the sin of his own sons in the house of God.
   When leaders and believers get comfortable, sin grows unchecked.
4. Signs of an Unbothered Church
   · No burden for souls who will go to hell without hearing the gospel
   · Living in luxury and ease while the house of God is neglected
   · More busy with worldly activities than with the work of God
   · More interested in bags, watches, cars, and houses than in winning souls
   Note: This isn’t about possessions. It’s about priorities.
5. One Person Can Make a Difference
   Hannah: Brought her sorrow to God in honest prayer. Persisted. Surrendered her blessing back to God. 1 Samuel 1:9-11
   Jacob: Wrestled with God and said “I will not let you go until you bless me.” Genesis 32:24-26
   Esau: Sold his birthright because he was unbothered. Hebrews 12:16-17 Illustration: 7 Miles from Niagara
   A man walked 700 miles to see Niagara Falls. When he was 7 miles away and heard the roar, he asked a man on a roof, “Is that Niagara?”
   The answer: “It might be. I’ve never been there.”
   Don’t be 7 miles from revival and be unbothered.

Closing Prayer:
“Lord, give me a burden to save some souls today.”
Give us conviction like Hannah. Give us determination like Jacob.Final Word:

   Lies go viral in seconds. Fear, division, and confusion spread faster than peace. Morality gets redefined 280 characters at a time.
   Discussion: How has social media shaped your view of truth? How can we use it for God’s kingdom instead of falling into deception?
5. Standing Firm in Truth Amidst Deception
   Scriptures: John 8:32, Ephesians 6:11
   The answer isn’t to log off. The answer is to be rooted.
   “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
   We talk about prayer, Scripture, and the Holy Spirit as our defense.
6. Our Responsibility as Believers to Share the Truth
   Scriptures: Matthew 5:15-16, 2 Corinthians 10:5
   We are called to be light, not just consumers.
   Discussion: How do we share God’s truth online with boldness AND grace? How do we help others spot deception?

What do you do when you hit the end of yourself?
When the disaster strikes, the prayers feel unanswered, and there’s nothing left to hold on to?In this message, we’re looking at 2 Corinthians 1:8-10 where Paul describes his missionary journey in Asia: “burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life.”
But then he says: “but we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead.”This sermon walks through 3 truths for when life breaks you:

1. When Disaster Strikes
   Shock. Denial. Confusion. Anxiety. Nightmares.
   Paul knew it. And so did Naomi and Ruth.

2. The Story of Ruth: From Emptiness to Providence
   A. The Picture of a Family in Crisis Ruth 1:1-2
   Famine in Israel. A time when “everyone did what was right in his own eyes” Judges 21:25. Disobedience leads to disaster Deuteronomy 11:16-17.
   B. Ten Years in Moab Ruth 1:4-5
   Imagine being a widow in that culture. No name. No inheritance. No future. These women came to the end of themselves.
   C. The Choice Ruth 1:6-18
   Stay or go? Orpah turned back. But Ruth said the words that changed everything: “Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your God will be my God” Ruth 1:16-17.
3. Finding God at the End of Ourselves Ruth 1:19-22
   A. We can find God’s Providence behind the circumstances of life.
   God is big “O”:
   Omnipresent. Omnipotent. Omniscient.
   Good. Loving. Righteous. Merciful. Powerful. Compassionate. Holy.“Oh yeah?” the world says. “Then where is God…?”
   In the loss of a loved one.
   In financial collapse.
   In bankruptcy.
   In family rifts.
   In closed church doors.
   In the death of a child. Church, hear the Word of the Lord: Job 1:20-22. Even at the end, we can say “The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.”

Be like Naomi, not Job’s wife. Be like Ruth, not Orpah.
Because God meets us right at the place where we run out of answers, strength, and options.If you’re in a season where you feel empty, weary, or broken — this message is for you.

The world is loud. Evil gets celebrated. Good gets mocked.
So what do we hold on to when everything is trying to pull us away?

In this message from Romans 12:5-9, Paul isn’t just telling us to “be good.” He’s calling us to cling to the good.
Cling means to hold tightly. To grip. To refuse to let go. Especially when the storm hits.

Here’s what we cover:

1. The Background: Romans 12:1-4
   “Present your bodies as a living sacrifice.” Before we talk about clinging, we remember who we are — one body in Christ, with different gifts. Our lives belong to Him first.
2. Cling to Christ, the Source of All Good
   Jesus is the Bread of Life. Light of the World. Good Shepherd. Resurrection and the Life. The Way, Truth, and Life. The True Vine. Revelation 1:8 — “I am the Alpha and Omega.”
   Picture a sailor in a violent storm. The only thing that saves him is what he’s tied to. Are we clinging to Christ or to the world? The Bahia Bakari story reminds us: survivors hold on.
3. Cling to His Word
   Psalm 119:105: “Your word is a lamp to my feet.”
   The devil’s first attack is always on our grip of Scripture. Loosen your confidence in the Bible, and your walk gets weak. Hold tighter.
4. Cling to Holiness
   The world says “Compromise.” God says “Be ye holy.”
   Holiness isn’t boring. It’s what keeps us close to God when culture tells us to blend in.
5. Cling to Love
   Romans 12:9: “Let love be genuine.” No faking. No pretending. Real love holds on to people even when it’s hard.
6. Cling to Hope
   Titus 2:13: “Waiting for our blessed hope.” Colossians 3:4: “When Christ appears, you also will appear with Him.”
   The story of “The Child Who Would Never Let Go” reminds us — hope is stubborn. It refuses to quit.

Soul-Searching Questions:
Am I holding on to Christ or to temporary things?
Am I in God’s Word every day?
Am I pursuing holiness or settling?
Am I showing genuine love?
Am I holding on to hope in the middle of battles?

The truth: The world is constantly pulling. But the Holy Spirit is calling us back.

So hold tighter.
Pray deeper.
Trust stronger.
Love greater.
Serve faithfully.
Stand firmly.

And never let go of Jesus.
