Scripture: Obadiah, We want the enemies of the Gospel to come to God, but if they reject God then we declare the judgment/condemnation to them by God. In Edom we see an enemy of God's people. At the conclusion of Obadiah we see the prophet pointing to Christ and the establishment of a new Kingdom not of this world. (verse 15). It is interesting that the last of David's military victories is over Edom (2 Samuel 8)

Scripture: Obadiah, Esau, the father of the Edomites, did show mercy to Jacob, yet the people of Edom showed no mercy to Judah. (verse 7). God will turn Edom's allies against Edom.

Scripture: Amos 9:1-15, This final lesson begins with the fifth vision of Amos, "The Lord standing beside the Altar". Verse 9:11 is the crown jewel of the book of Amos. This is part of the promise by God to restore Israel (verses 9:11-15).

Scripture: Amos 5:27-6:14, Chapters 2-6 is one long sermon. Chapters 7 and 8 are five visions. God reveals Himself in imminent ways. He desires to be known as a Father, a person to us. He promises judgment and takes it away.
