Wes Anderson continues his quirky streak with “Asteroid City” with an impressive cast and his signature look. But the stylistic film might not be for some audiences. Over on DisneyPlus, the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues with the TV miniseries “Secret Invasion,”  where Samuel L. Jackson returns to the role of Nick Fury, former head of the superhero spy organization ‘Shield.’ Then in theaters is the R-rated comedy “No Hard Feelings,” where you will have to watch the trailer before deciding on seeing the raunchy movie. Something decidedly more family-friendly is “World's Best” over on DisneyPlus. Andy Farnsworth joins KSL-TV to help audiences decipher #WhatToWatch for the weekend of June 16, 2023.  Two big movies are opening against each other; Warner Brothers’ "The Flash" and Disney’s "Elemental” is setting up a divisive weekend at the box office. The DC Superhero is a very enjoyable, though not perfect superhero movie that also brings back Michael Keaton as Batman. The animated Pixar film’s sincere story about the immigrant experience has some amazing visuals, but a few head-scratching moments near the end. “Elemental” also boasts an excellent animated short before the movie starts called "Carl's Date" with old man Carl from "Up" and his dog named Dug. (Don’t miss Producer KellieAnn's quick take on both “The Flash” and “Elemental” after Andy’s segment.)

Other options include the start of season 2 of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” streaming on Paramount Plus; the very interesting Netflix documentary “Arnold” about Arnold Schwarzenegger; Chris Hemsworth's "Extraction 2" on Netflix; The horror comedy "The Blackening" in theaters; and another documentary streaming about “Stan Lee,” this time on DisneyPlus.  And

Andy also takes a look at the new Disney+ series "American Born Chinese", which features Michelle Yeoh & Ke Huy Quan. An animated throwback to the 1980s with "Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai" on Max (formerly HBO Max), which shows how the elderly gentleman who sold Gizmo to Billy's dad in the movie, came into possession of Gizmo in the first place. A movie called "Shooting Stars" on Peacock is about LeBron James and his buddies and how they stuck together through various challenges to become one of the best high school teams ever. And finally, "The Boogeyman" might end up scaring you, even more so perhaps because of its PG-13 rating.

Andy lets gives his quick review on the latest Disney offering, with Producer KellieAnn’s viewpoint in our second segment. 

Other movies and shows out on this big Box Office weekend include: “About My Father” a new comedy starring Robert De Niro and Sebastian Maniscalco as a working-class father-son duo who spend a weekend with the ultra-wealthy family of Sebastian's girlfriend. “You Hurt My Feelings,” a comedy out of the Sundance Film Festival starring Julia Louis-Dreyfuss as an author who is terribly hurt when she overhears her husband admit to someone that he didn't like her new book. “FUBAR,” a new series on Netflix starring Arnold Schwarzenegger & Monica Barbaro.  It's comedy & action but it swings WILDLY between the two, almost giving you whiplash. “Kandahar” stars Gerard Butler as a CIA operative whose cover is blown in Afghanistan and has to fight his way out along with his Afghan interpreter. “Platonic,” a comedy series on Apple TV+ starring Seth Rogan & Rose Byrne about two lifelong friends who reconnect and bring out the worst in each other. And, “The Machine”, a gross-out comedy based on the stand-up routine of Bert Kreischer, that also features Mark Hamill.

If you're a fan of“Bridgerton,” you've got “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story” on Netflix. And Pete Davidson's “Bupkis” on Peacock has some shocking and disgusting some might find funny, but not Andy.
