Voice actress Laila Berzins talks about her take as Sofia Falcone in Batman: The Long Halloween Part Two, available on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 via Digital, Blu-ray and DVD.

I first met Laila Berzins on a cruise down to the Mexican Rivera, Since then, Berzins and I have cracked a few jokes over the last couple of years and her success continues to grow.

Berzins has been heard as Xiao in Genshin Impact, Mrs. Croaker in Disney's Amphibia and Weecha in Bigfoot Family. Now, my buddy has been immortalized as Sofia Falcone in Batman: The Long Halloween Part Two.

We played a little catch up after the world fell apart as she has taken her seat in the DC Animated Universe, how a happy-go-lucky person dug up such gravitas to play a hardened mob boss' daughter and what it means to play a character so different from her natural persona.

Berzins is blazing a trail in the voice over world and it is great to see people you know succeed in their desired careers. From video games to mob boss' daughter and everything in between, keep your ears open for Berzins as she is well on her way to become a recognizable voice in in the medium.

The Dove Foundation approved and uplifting family film, Dolphin Island is available now on DVD and VOD.

Directed by Mike Disa (Space Dogs, Hoodwinked Too!). Produced by Shaked Berenson (Turbo Kid, JeruZalem, A Tiger's Tale), and written by Disa, Berenson, and Rolfe Kanefsky (Puppy Swap: Love Unleashed), Dolphin Island follows orphaned Anabelle (Tyler Jade Nixon) who moves in with her paternal grandfather, Robert (Bob Bledsoe) along with a large, loving extended family and friends, including a dolphin named Mitzy.

When Anabelle's affluent and extremely materialistic, New York maternal grandparents head down to the Caribbean with their sleezy lawyer to return their tax write-off granddaughter to the Northeast. Luckily for Anabelle, she's has a whole host of family, friends and including her social worker, which is a huge bonus.

I caught up with Mike and Shaked, who were candid about speaking about the filmmaking process, what it is like to work with major studios versus smaller budget films and how important it is that family films before the whole family instead of just for little kids that parents tune out or have too many adult jokes that parents instantly want to turn it off.

Adam Rocha, Founder of the San Antonio Film Festival (SAFilm) Celebrates 27 years of Independent Films August 5 through 8, 2021.

Teacher, music lover and independent film enthusiast Adam Rocha started the San Antonio Film Festival (SAFilm) 27 years ago. As the world took a nosedive in 2020, Rocha pivoted and took SAFilm online with digital screenings of full length feature films, student films animated features and short film blocks.

Now that the world is beginning to open up again SAFilm will sort of be a 2020 2.0 with bringing in some of the favorite films from 2020 and new films for 2021 for an in person experience that was lacking last year.

Director Gabriel Gaurano talks about his boxing bocumentary Team Meryland about 12-year-old Meryland Gonzalez fights in-and-out of the ring attempting to be crowned the 2019 Junior Olympics Champion.

Director, Editor and Director of Photography, Gabriel Gaurano is a filmmaker whose work has screened and garnered awards at festivals like AFI, Palm Springs International Shorts Fest, and many more. Gaurano's experiences have pulled him towards telling real stories of resilient families who push through the impossible.

In this case, Gaurano was lucky enough to be in a San Diego, CA park when he met Meryland Gonzalez's father who approached them in wanting to tell the story of his young daughter training for the 2019 Junior Olympics in the sport of boxing.

Meryland Gonzalez is from the Watts district of Los Angeles, born to immigrant parents that struggle to make ends meet while supporting their daughter's dreams of becoming a champion.

Gabriel Gaurano’s documentary short film Team Meryland focuses on a 12 year old Mexican-American boxer’s second chance at life as she overcomes a past medical trauma. This inspirational story already screened at many prestigious film festivals including the Oscar qualifying Big Sky Documentary Film Festival and Cleveland International Film Festival where it won the FilmSlam Best Short Award. It will be screening at the 2021 Indy Shorts International Film Festival: Heartland Film this month.

The documentary is a beautifully made film and we can only hope to see what is next  for Gaurano and the Gonzalez family as she will possibly strive to become an Olympian in the adult games, once she is old enough.

Team Meryland is one of those documentaries that you wish was longer and  I am thrilled I got to watch it and speak with Gaurano.

Space Jam Animator Tony Cervone Talks About the Original Film and the Sequel Space Jam: A New Legacy in theaters today.

Tony Cervone is an animator, producer and director. He has worked on Duck Dodgers, Scoob!, The Flintstones & WWE: Stone Age Smackdown. He's even a member of the KISS Army and proved his dedication to the cause in Scooby-Doo and KISS: Rock and Roll Mystery.

Cervone has also worked on the original animated feature Space Jam starring our favorite Looney Tunes characters and the G.O.A.T., the Chicago Bulls' own and the reason there is a sneaker head culture, Michael Jordan. The original Space Jam celebrated its 25th Anniversary this year with a 4K, Blu-Ray Combo Pack restoration release on July 6, 2021.

Today, Cervone celebrates another milestone in the release of Space Jam: A New Legacy, with this generation's NBA Superstar and current Los Angeles Laker, Labron James.

Cervone takes us on an aural journey through the animation process for 2-D a quarter of a century ago and the the blend between 2-D and 3-D animation for Space Jam's sequel within the new century.

During the shutdown of Las Vegas, Mr. Daddy developed the show (as you will hear above) with a business associate and through their connections with performers throughout the city, created an eight-act variety show that eventually expanded to 12-acts. Mr. Daddy stated that the Mosaic on the Strip had two nights open mid-week and he was able to fill both nights beginning in March of 2021. Since then, they have become the show on the strip every local and people who desire to avoid the tourist traps choose to visit.

Famed voice actress Julie Nathanson brings to life Gilda Dent in Batman: The Long Halloween Part One available on Digital, Blu-ray and DVD on Tuesday, June 25, 2021 from Warner Bros. Animation.

Julie Nathanson is one of a kind, her performance as Gilda Dent in Batman: The Long Halloween Part One made me forget I was watching an animated features in stead of a live action Batman movie!
