This week, Bri and Leah discuss Neil Jordan's other vampire movie: Byzantium (2013). This is an overstuffed movie, so we ended up with a little bit of an overstuffed conversation as well. This episode is marked explicit for some swearing, BUT we'd also like to put a content warning on this episode. The film deals with sexual violence and forced sex work, and, while we don't discuss these aspects of the film in great detail, we do mention them.

This week, Bri and Leah welcome special guest Terry Waldher to the Fang Club! We're discussing Terry's pick: The Monster Squad (1987, dir. Fred Dekker). This episode kind of works as a third installment to "Dracula: Where Is He Now? Part 2: Universal's Dracula," if you're still on a Dracula bender. As always, this episode is only marked explicit for some salty language.

This week, Bri and Leah dive back into the world of YA fantasy film adaptations to discuss Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant (2009, dir. Paul Weitz). As always, this episode is marked explicit for a few f-bombs.
**Leah, it turns out, also confused The Sorcerer's Apprentice with something else. There is a movie titled The Sorcerer's Apprentice, and it does have Nicholas Cage in it. But that movie isn't based on a series of books. The book series Leah was thinking of was The Ranger's Apprentice series, which isn't related to The Sorcerer's Apprentice. The Ranger's Apprentice series has, as of yet, not gotten a screen adaptation. Too many apprentices!!**

Welcome to our series... "Dracula: Where Is He Now?" Leah and Bri are periodically releasing parts of this series, which focuses on Dracula's one hundred years of film stardom, over the first half of 2022. Each part will thematically group pre- and post-2000 Dracula films.
"Part Two: Universal's Dracula" highlights Bela Lugosi's iconic turn as Count Dracula in Dracula (1931, dir. Tod Browning), the first of the Universal Classic Monster films; then we get into the studio's attempts in the 21st-century to reboot their classic Dracula characters, Van Helsing (2004, dir. Stephen Sommers) and Dracula Untold (2014, dir. Gary Shore). Part Two is TWO episodes! This is the second episode; go back and listen to episode 28 if you missed the first episode.

This week, Bri and Leah dive into Mike Flanagan's rich Netflix series Midnight Mass (2021). We've been waiting to talk about this one for a hot minute, but we didn't want to spoil anything for anyone by including it on a vampire podcast! But it's been long enough. Join us for this super-sized episode, and let's talk about vampires and religion! This episode is marked explicit for some swearing, BUT this episode (like the show) does deal with some heavy themes (alcoholism, pregnancy loss, suicide).

This week, Bri and Leah bend the rules just a little bit to discuss Jude Law's turn as a vampire in The Wisdom of Crocodiles (also released as Immortality, dir. Po-Chih Leong, 2000-ish). This episode is marked explicit for a handful of f-bombs, as usual.

This week, Bri and Leah are chatting about Vamps (2012, dir. Amy Heckerling). It was right up our alley. This episode is marked explicit for some light swearing.
**Leah can do math most of the time, we promise. She incorrectly calculates Goody's age in the film as 270 years old... off by a century, there. Oops. Goody, if she were turned in the 1840s, would be about 170 years old in 2012.**

This week, Bri and Leah are discussing Ultraviolet (2006, dir. Kurt Wimmer). This one barely counts as a vampire film, but we tried? This film prompted a lot of swearing.

Welcome to our brand new series... "Dracula: Where Is He Now?" Leah and Bri will be periodically releasing parts of this series, which will focus on Dracula's one hundred years of film stardom, over the next few months. Each part will thematically group pre- and post-2000 Dracula films.
We're starting, of course, with Nosferatu. "Part One: Nosferatu" highlights F. W. Murnau's seminal silent horror film Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror (1922) and Shadow of the Vampire (dir. E. Elias Merhige, 2000). Part One is TWO episodes! This is the second episode; the first episode released last week.
CORRECTION: Willem Dafoe lost the Oscar to Benicio del Toro for Traffic at the 2001 ceremony, which awarded films from 2000. Michael Caine won at the 2000 ceremony, which awarded films from 1999. Simply a Googling error on Leah's part.
**Note on the audio: Leah experienced some technical difficulties while recording. Please, please excuse the drastically reduced audio quality this week. It will not be a recurring issue, and we apologize!**
