Fangs Up

The FAMU vs FAU football game proved to be an outing that provided the feared outcome while also giving the fans a taste of what they have been asking for.

We were able to see RJ Johnson mature into what could be a serviceable QB going forward while the defense seemed to show some concerns that have others concerned as FAMU prepares to play a Red Hot Albany State Football Team.

Also FAMU Volleyball came up a bit short while FAMU Golf brought home the gold.

Rattlesnakes and Burrowing Owls do not share the same burrow and much like in nature we see an instance in which neither team can stay in a so called safe place.

FAMU is coming off the heels of a loss to Howard while FAU is looking to bounce back from a loss to Maryland.

Each team is desperate for a win for different reasons, but do we truly feel like both teams are truly in a must win mindset?

What we can say is that FAMU will leave this game hoping to have answered questions about a few key positions and unscathed.

While FAU is looking for a much needed shot of energy.

While football continues to find its way Golf begins and Volleyball also looks to find its footing.

The Orange Blossom Classic was nothing less than an abject disaster on one side of the field.

The offense was anemic and left the fanbase asking questions that will haunt them for weeks.

Chief among those questions will be centered around the quarterback position and if change is needed or should the staff dig in its heels behind RJ.

It was a poor showing from that offense and that has to corrected

But the Defense and Special teams were a bright spot in what otherwise proved to be a disappointing outcome.

While the football team massively fumbled the bag, the Volleyball team gave us some hope.

Let’s talk about FAMULY, I picked FAMU to win based on what I was told the QB position might be but now have reservations after seeing otherwise.

The season is not over, but the showing in the OBC is definitely below the standard of FAMU faithful.

The OBC is on Saturday and that is all well and good because we know that FAMU should win that game.

But what about the other games that are taking place this week?

If you need to be reminded because the host of the show is kind of petty, he did pretty well in the pick'em game over the last two years.

Well let’s run through this week's slate of games and pick who we think will win.

Also FAMU Volleyball has started and we have the opportunity to potentially repeat as SWAC champions in many sports.

The Orange Blossom Classic is less than a week away and we still do not know who the starting Quarterback is.

But we may have a friend who can tell us what he has seen from the field level at FAMU.

Let us find out what may be in store in Miami and for the rest of the season.

Recruiting is one of the most important aspects in sports and we are seeing an increase in the number of Recruits who are committing to FAMU that are coming from the High School Ranks.A Loose episode that is on the back of a great night with friends.

We are good at saying that you can make it anywhere from FAMU.

But can we say in good faith that players who come to FAMU are destined to play professional sports?

This being said as we watch multiple FAMU players at the NFL level show that they may be staples on NFL rosters.

Having looked at the season and predicting the results for each game, how do you feel about the new season and with a new administration in place how do you feel about some of the names that are now in place?

No Trouble today but questions of if threats will become promises have to be answered.

The Florida Classic is normally the culmination of Football season and it is honestly a celebration that draws thousands while bringing in Millions of Dollars.

The game is a celebration of two institutions who have an intense rivalry which borders on hatred and sibling rivalry.

Also FAMU President Marva Johnson has officially started on the job and here is hoping she succeeds.

So far the PR trail has been a dud, but how do we make it better?

Good trouble is in the room as we seek to save what appears to be lost.
