Fangs Up

Let us Break Bread and talk about some FAMU Stuff on a Friday!

The FAMU vs Alabama A&M game has quietly become one of the better games in the SWAC to attend or watch.

The schools are in a space in which they are not able to become rivals but are also similar enough to make this a fun space to be in for both fan bases.

And the age old question is if all money is good money comes into the question in regards to who will our organizations take money from.

We are starting some good trouble for Lunch on a Friday.

FAMU vs UAPB is the quintessential definition of a trap game.

And FAMU fans can no longer state that trap games do not exist as we found out the hard way at home.

But this is a game that many in the fanbase would circle as a potential blow out but for what reasons could it be a blowout?

All while FAMU basketball & football continue to blaze the recruiting trail.

Additionally Rattler Boosters seems to have some new energy going into the new year and is looking to do some fund raising, but do we have too many splinter groups that are raising funds for FAMU to the point that we look unfocused?

FAMU vs Jackson State has quickly become one of the top four rivalries in the SWAC. This is honestly a happy accident that has been the result of adding one of the largest HBCU brands in the nation into a conference that had the luxury of having the other most polarizing brand within its ranks.

Well this annual game has been the defacto SWAC Championship for nearly a half decade and a new power potential rising in the western division of the conference this game continues to be one of the most important games within the SWAC.

One of the best traditional rivalries between fanbases is FAMU vs Southern.

Two Schools that share a ton of similarities.

Two Elite Bands, Two tradition rich football brands that are both in the Capitol city of the state who share the city with a major PWI.

The similarities on and off the field create the perfect rivalry at what is one of the best atmospheres in HBCU sports.

An advocate is a person who supports or promotes the interest of a cause or a group.

And while I’m not the biggest fan of the rock we have landed on, I do believe we have to now mine like hell to get whatever resources we can from it.

So while advocating for the president might be a reach, let's give some ideas as to how this relationship can be mutually beneficial while also understanding that we are also looking to see how it will all end up.

No Sports today, just business.

The 2025 Homecoming for FAMU could be extremely interesting for many, especially those who plan to use this event to monetize the weekend.

Hotel prices will likely stay at the same rate but the question of how many will stay away in protest becomes apparent as many have vowed to reduce the amount of support they give to FAMU.

The game will hopefully be packed and the atmosphere will definitely be tense.

Also FAMU Golf & Track are continuing to build support for the teams; all this takes place as the Baseball team makes an addition and the basketball team looks to fill its roster.

Good time for some good trouble! Fangs Up

It is definitely not a Rivalry but at the end of FAMU’s time in the MEAC one of the must watch games was North Carolina Central.

This game was good for a close outcome and was the game that many of us predicted would be the matchup for the Celebration Bowl.

Well the Celebration Bowl predictions proved to be just that, but we do get what could be a battle between two of the top teams in HBCU football .

Additionally the fact that this is camp season has resulted in a few student athletes receiving an offer to continue playing sports at the Highest of Seven Hills.

Let's talk about it so we can have a little distraction from what else is going on about FAMU.

“Keep knocking at the Devil’s Door and eventually he will answer you” is my favorite quote from the movie Four Brothers and last year FAMU had Mississippi Valley answer the calls that this team would not lose to Valley; better yet end a streak against the likes of MVSU.

Well the Rattlers will be traveling to Atlanta to play against MVSU in the Benz.

Last time FAMU played in the Benz it was a great celebration for many that culminated in the end of an era.

Additionally we have seen that the President that many did not want has been approved by the Florida BOG, drawing comparisons to the late FSU president Thrasher.

We shall see how this whole thing shakes out. Fangs Up

Talib Qwele has a song titled country cousins and in this case these are two sets of country cousins that love to play fight!

FAMU and Alabama State is the best little rivalry that most people sleep on in the SWAC. These two schools are so similar and are closer than most people realize.

The two schools also have histories that are at times shared or mirror each other.

Let us look at the Alabama State vs FAMU football game.

Also Coaches have camps which have been fruitful in the past couple of days.

The Baseball team has had multiple commitments and the Football team continues to pack what seems to be an overly filled locker room.

Being a Rattler ain’t for the faint of heart and we know how much FAMUans love this university. Fangs Up

FAMU came out of yesterday's BOT meeting with a ton of frustration on some issues but also some much needed transparency on other issues.

And of course the conversation over the President elect’s contract caused a good amount of consternation.

But the clock keeps ticking and the question of what would the SWAC be without FAMU?

FAMU continues to be the news source that keeps giving all this while FAMU has a track athlete competing at the National Level and we look to the third game of the football season which will be against the Albany State University Golden Rams.

FAMU keeps providing all the entertainment that we would ever need. Fangs Up
