FAMU Basketball split games against Alcorn State on Saturday while the Track team made some considerable strides to show that trusting the process may be worth it when you have the right person leading the program. 

Also we have a bit of a clue as to who FAMU will be playing on the gridiron and one potential game has my attention.

Heavy Snow is not the Norm in Tallahassee but change is, FAMU is an ever changing landscape for many reasons which can be cause for frustration for some and serve as hope for others. 

On one side  we are seeing persons who have been integral to the success of the program depart for better opportunities while on other ends we see multiple rebuilds happen before our eyes. 

Change can seem to adversely affect sustainability but it could also bring in new thought which will allow the programs to grow.

FAMU Basketball did what it was supposed to do against two of the lower ranked teams in the conference.

This may give cause for hope as it shows growth within a program that has been cheeks for the better part of two decades.

Is basketball becoming more than an after thought for the first time in decades?

Football, the stick which stirs the cup continues to draw the attention of Rattler Nation even when we see that the Spring sports have got into full swing.

The FAMU Lady Ratters just finished playing a game and the O&G Strikezone just hosted Coach Colzie in an interview that did much to calm the nerves of Rattler Nations. All this while the Rattler Boosters just had a meeting which indicated that change is afoot.

Spring is when new things grow and when things start anew.

FAMU can’t run it back withColzie because they did not repeat as SWAC champions.

But they can definitely build back better in 2025 and this appears to be the time at which Colzie will Re-Up on the talent that will make up this roster.

Additionally FAMU basketball did what I predicted against Southern while the other sports are about to give many in Rattler Nations something to hope for.

FAMU and other HBCUs need to be a part of the NIL trend as much as other schools.

FAMU has the Fang Exchange while other schools have come up with ways to bring in top talent.

The playing field may never be level but doing nothing is essentially allowing for these programs to fall further behind.

Recruiting is the life blood of a successful program and FAMU athletics has made a concerted effort to bring the Florida Boys and Local talent back home.
