With an upset loss to Prairie View on the gridiron and a Jackson State win, it is safe to say that we can prepare to turn the page on the 2024 Football season.

But this loss definitely showed us some things going into the new season while also making it abundantly clear that this team is hinged on the success of one position more than any others.

While the Football team is destined to experience postseason from the couch the FAMU Volleyball team continues in a position to close the season with a SWAC Championship.

And the FAMU basketball team will take some lumps until conference play begins.

After Homecoming and a Flight to Texas can the FAMU football avoid the hangover?

While us fans bask in what homecoming was, the Winter Sports have started.

Basketball, Bowling & Tennis join the party while Volleyball looks to close out the season.

It’s over said, but there is no place like home! 

Homecoming was pure pageantry. 

The parties, the tailgate, then of course the game itself. 

The entire weekend was magical and anyone not wearing supporting FAMU was definitely cooked as the children would say.

The most memorable plays of the Southern University vs FAMU football games were definitely provided by the Special Teams and Offense.

But the defense held it down during the game and honestly kept the team in the game for the majority of the Jackson State game in the previous week.

But the offense was again on the precipice of again scoring a meager Twenty-One (21) points in the game, seven (7) of those points were from the special team unit.

On the flip side the volleyball team was able to again get another win which keeps them in first place as we kickoff homecoming week.

The week is filled with good times and parties and while I hope you got your pre-game routine right, the one rule for any party goer is to never be on time.

Football is hoping and praying that Jackson State has a few loses so the team can get into the SWAC Championship conversation while the FAMU Volleyball team is leading the SWAC standings with a perfect record.

The Heavy Weight battle that every SWAC fan has been waiting for is on the horizon and the SWAC East is the prize.

When the game is over you can likely say that you saw the SWAC Champion.

The Bowling team also has a coach and it's time for fall ball.

All while some Rattlers are being haunted by the ghost of Athletic Directors gone past who continue to remind folks that they left here with some belts themselves.

Another Bye week before a conference game that many expect to be the toughest game of the season. But we also have the question of if one of our Major DSO’s is in need of repairs going forward. 

Also Lawson is making a case to be the next home of the SWAC Volleyball tournament while cross-country will run at FSU.

And the Basketball teams are making key additions prior to the start of the season.

The FAMU vs Alabama State game was definitely trying the patience of many FAMU faithful.

But the end result was a FAMU victory and the team was able to apply a little belt to the behinds of the Hornets.

We also saw FAMU Cross Country showed improvements and FAMU Tennis looked Impressive in SWAC preseason play.

All this while FAMU Volleyball continues the winning streak!

To act like the last time FAMU played a football game in the state of Alabama was what we wanted is a lie. But in getting to the game against Alabama State FAMU fan have noticed that multiple leaks exist in the building and the hope is that the extra time off has allowed the football team to alleviate some of those issues.

Additionally we have seen the Golf team give us some hope while the Tennis team and Volleyball teams make those that are in Rattler Nation very proud of what we have seen thus far.
