Success masks inefficiencies, mistakes and bad habits while also becoming a breeding place for complacencies.

But success also creates a foundation upon which a standard for excellence is created. Last year's success on the athletic field served as a continuation of the standard which is FAMU Football and this year's success by the Volleyball team was much of the same.

What will become the new standard in this current landscape of athletics rests solely upon who the new standard bearers will be which means recruiting is vital to the success of these programs.

While we wait on Volleyball to bring in a new crop of student athletes, football continues its mad dash to acquire the next group of successful FAMU athletes.

Some have already committed and some are weighing the best options for them.

Lets see who may be joining in the rally cry, Fangs Up.

FAMU Fans watched as Jackson State won the SWAC but would soon see the news that former Head Coach Willie Simmons would be named the new head coach at Florida International University!

While this football season did not finish as planned it can be argued that in the grand scheme of things. The Major parties involved in the Football fiasco came out winners.

Also FAMU Volleyball concludes all fall sports after losing to Nebraska while the basketball teams applied B2A at Lawson!

Football season is over and the Volleyball team is in the spotlight, but before the spring sports take over.

What does the future hold for FAMU football as we enter the close of the first year of the Colzie era?

#FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital

FAMU Fans are definitely disappointed with the season's outcome but being disappointed with a winning season is a sign of a program that has high expectations.

Those frustrations also hint that change will be coming on the Highest of Seven Hills as many have voiced frustrations with how this team arrived at 7-5.

Football Season ends and the real Basketball season is about to begin.

While all of this goes on the FAMU Volleyball team prepares to make a Postseason run after another successful season and a SWAC Championship.

The Florida Classic was a sight to see for those in attendance and the centerpiece of a successful weekend for those who really cherish the rivalry with Bethune Cookman University as the Wildcats were 0-2 against FAMU on the athletic everything.

But that is not the full story for the weekend, FAMU Men’s Basketball was able to get a win while the Lady Rattlers stayed in Orlando until Sunday but left with a tough loss.

You can’t win them all but you sure as heck want to.

Welp it’s been over a thousand days since FAMU lost to BCU.

The Florida Classic is just as much about the Pop of the football game as it is the circumstances that surround it.

Govern yourselves accordingly in the City Beautiful.

Also FAMU basketball is trying to bounce back from a tough start to the season and the Volleyball team reign as the regular season champions of the South Western Athletic Conference.

Man we need these wins!

In what can be explained as nothing more than a nightmare in Bragg Memorial Stadium the Rattlers gave the Devils an opening and had Hell to pay.

And again the Number 21 stinks in the minds of the FAMU faithful.

On the other side of things FAMU Volleyball has won the SWAC but that success is definitely overshadowed by the outcome in Bragg.

Winning the SWAC and finding out how to fix the problems that bother us Rattlers.

With an upset loss to Prairie View on the gridiron and a Jackson State win, it is safe to say that we can prepare to turn the page on the 2024 Football season.

But this loss definitely showed us some things going into the new season while also making it abundantly clear that this team is hinged on the success of one position more than any others.

While the Football team is destined to experience postseason from the couch the FAMU Volleyball team continues in a position to close the season with a SWAC Championship.

And the FAMU basketball team will take some lumps until conference play begins.
