Donald Trump didn't get much sleep on Sunday night because he was too busy throwing a temper tantrum on Truth Social that stretched all the way into Monday morning. The former President was ranting about non-existent Department of Justice rules that he claims prevent him from being prosecuted during an election year, though no such rules exist anywhere.

Also, during a recent appearance on Newsmax, Trump lawyer Alina Habba was nearly tricked into arguing AGAINST presidential immunity when a host asked her if President Biden could be sued after a nursing student was murdered recently. Habba said that Biden definitely bore the responsibility for it, but when the host pressed about suing him, Habba was forced to defend Biden saying that all presidents should enjoy immunity. 

And during his speech at CPAC this past weekend, Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz told the crowd "you're welcome" for taking on "the swamp" of Washington, D.C. He also boasted that taking on this so-called swamp has made life a "living hell" for his Republican colleagues, and creating hell on earth is something Gaetz is extremely proud of. There's just one major problem with his assessment of things.

And finally, during Donald Trump's CPAC speech, he began talking about his "wife", but he didn't refer to her by name. And then, in the very same breath, he referred to a woman named "Mercedes." This led many on social media to believe that Trump had forgotten the name of his own wife, but he was actually referring to Mercedes Schlapp who was standing just off stage. But even if he knew his wife's name, the weird non-sequitur is still something that should raise eyebrows.

During a speech in Nashville late last week, Donald Trump heaped praise upon the Capitol Rioters by saying that he admired their "spirit." This is the kind of statement that could easily blow up his chances of being left on the ballot as he faces 14th Amendment challenges from multiple states. If we had a fair Supreme Court, this statement alone would mean "game over" for Trump being on the ballot.

Also, Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has long been rumored to be on Trump's shortlist for possible running mates. But that isn't exactly what Greene has in mind. Greene told reporters this week - and, by extension, Donald Trump - that she would be more than happy with a position in his cabinet, and she knows exactly what position she wants. And if Trump becomes president, you can bet that she'll get it.

And as part of a new series of focus group interviews that CNN is conducting, they spoke to Republican voters about who they are supporting this year. One Republican voter revealed that even though she is a staunch conservative, there's a very steadfast reason why she'll never vote for Donald Trump. The voter says that she wouldn't trust him around her kids and that he is a bad role model, and that, for her, is a dealbreaker. This is actually something that needs to be highlighted more by the Democrats.

Finally, Donald Trump might be cruising to an easy victory in the Republican primary, but that doesn't mean that he's got the same power that he used to have. According to new reports - and photographs - Trump is struggling to fill auditoriums for his "pity party" rallies, and at his most recent event in Nashville, organizers had to remove hundreds of empty chairs so Trump wasn't looking at empty seats.

 Jim Jordan had a bit of a moment of panic when he was confronted by CNN reporter Manu Raju this week, where Raju asked Jordan about his "star witness" not only being indicted for lying about the Bidens, but also revealing that he got the information from Russian intelligence officials. Jordan insisted that his case for impeachment (and other investigations) was still strong, but he provided flimsy hearsay to back up that claim.

Also, Donald Trump had a terrible town hall event with Fox News this week, where he made a number of outrageous statements and completely false claims. But one of the weirdest things the former President said was that all of his experience with the criminal and civil trials he's facing or has faced have made him an "expert at law." The claim was so dumb that even the Biden campaign reposted the statement with a video clip on Twitter. Farron explains what Trump has become an "expert" at as a result of losing all these trials. 

And MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell lost again in the legal system this week as he attempted to appeal a ruling from last year that said that he had to pay a man $5 million for winning the "Mike Lindell Challenge" and proving his claims of voter fraud wrong. An arbitration panel last year ordered Lindell to pay up, but he tried to get that overturned, and he failed spectacularly with a ruling against him this week.

Finally, Donald Trump's lawyer, Clifford Robert, sent a very polite letter to Judge Arthur Engoron this week, begging the judge to let Trump make a "counter offer" for the judgement against him. Trump doesn't want to have to pay the $350 million verdict that Engoron hit him with last week, so like a true businessman, he's hoping that he can make a counter offer and get that number to something he's more comfortable with. That's absolutely NOT how the justice system works.

During an interview on Newsmax this week, Alina Habba was asked about her future as a lawyer due to the damage that she could incur to her reputation for representing Donald Trump. It took Habba a moment to digest that thought, and it clearly made her realize that her future isn't looking very bright at this point. Her entire demeanor changed after this question, and it was evident that she knows she's not going to go on to bigger and better things.

Also,  Donald Trump has a habit of getting under the skin of the judges that have handled his previous cases. But the next trial that Trump faces is different from all the others due to the fact that this one is a criminal matter, not a civil one. Because of this, legal experts are warning that the judge isn't going to tolerate the kinds of outbursts and "lawyer games" that Trump loves to use during trial, and those moves could get him in serious trouble. 

And Marjorie Taylor Greene, along with several other Republican lawmakers, received devastating news from the Supreme Court this week when they were told that they had to pay the fines they had racked up for violating the House's mask mandate policy. Greene herself had received more than $100,000 in fines for violating the rules, and she begged the Supreme Court to reverse the penalties, but this week they refused. 

Finally,  the clock has started running on Donald Trump's $350 million verdict, and he now has less than 30 days to either put money in an escrow pending his appeal, or he can just pay the full amount and be done. But if he doesn't have the cash, New York Attorney General Letitia James made it clear this week that she won't hesitate to seize his assets and sell them off to pay the debt. This could be the worst thing to ever happen to Trump.

Donald Trump is still freaking out about the fraud trial verdict against him, and he knows that he could lose everything if he's forced to pay the final judgement. He went on another late night posting binge on Truth Social to spread more lies about the trial, but his lies are only resonating with his hardcore base that will believe anything he says. The general public, on the other hand, now has clear evidence that the man is a fraud.

Also, Lauren Boebert has been spending time meeting with the voters in her new district, and things have gone from bad to worse. While Boebert does enjoy a little bit of support - mostly due to her fame and name recognition - most voters that she's meeting with are leaving unimpressed, with some even having a worse opinion of her after their meetings. Boebert can't leave the stain of her past behind her, and it's going to cost her dearly.

And during an appearance on Eric Bolling's Newsmax show late last week, Donald Trump, Jr. appeared to actually be proud of the fact that his company was found liable for defrauding banks and ordered to pay hundreds of millions of dollars. Bolling suggested that it was a "victimless crime," and Junior ran with that theme and repeated it over and over before saying that doing business with his company was a "feather in the cap" of these banks. 

Finally, disgraced former Congressman George Santos has filed a lawsuit against talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. Santos alleges that Kimmel submitted fraudulent requests to Santos' Cameo account and got him to say stupid things that were then played on TV. Santos is seeking close to $1 million from Kimmel, but he's not going to see a dime of it because Santos is the one who actually said the things that Kimmel submitted, regardless of whether it was under a fake name or not.

At least one of our viewers isn't happy about Farron's recent plea with people to suck it up and vote for President Biden over Donald Trump due to the threat that Trump poses to the country. The issue, according to the viewer, is that Farron has failed to call out the corruption of the Democratic Party over their refusal to actually hold a primary.

Also, recent reports have shown that the allies of the United States are terrified about what could happen to them if Donald Trump gets back into office. Not only is he threatening to undo the support that they enjoy from the US, but he's also overly friendly with the people that are considered to be their (and our) enemies. Trump is a threat of global proportions, and our allies understand that better than anyone.

And Donald Trump's mental problems go far beyond just a few gaffes here and there. While President Biden is forgetful and has gotten a little slower in recent years, Trump's mental problems are fueled by rage and narcissism, making him far more dangerous than a forgetful old man. In fact, given Trump's refusal to live in reality, many think that he could be suffering from a serious, and dangerous, mental illness. 

Finally, recent reports have told us that Donald Trump's Super PACs are quickly running out of money and could be totally bankrupt by the start of July. This is due to them having to pay all of his legal fees. But with the recent legal judgments against Trump, it isn't just his Super PACs that could be bankrupt - he, personally, could be bankrupt in a short amount of time, too. Is it possible that Trump could be a penniless candidate by the convention?

The prospect of Donald Trump being convicted of a felony charge before the election is exceptionally strong, and that could even mean that he's sentenced to prison before voters head to the polls. But what would such a thing actually look like? Farron explains how the criminal justice system would handle someone like Donald Trump. 

 Donald Trump has done a good job of training his cult followers to take on his battles for him, sometimes even violently. In fact, all he has to do is call someone out on social media and his base takes the violence from there. So what would happen if Trump is convicted in one of his trials? Would he issue a distress call to his supporters to storm the courthouses?

The 2022 midterm elections were filled with some of the dumbest candidates we have ever seen. Herschel Walker, Kari Lake, Doug Mastriano, and many others lost, but other nimrods cruised to victory. This could be a sign that American politics is going to continue to get dumber as each election cycle comes and goes, and that's a terrifying thought for the future of the country.

Donald Trump's supporters have been duped out of their money, their freedoms, and their livelihoods for supporting him, yet they show no signs of stopping. At this point, it is almost impossible to feel sorry for these people that are sacrificing everything at the altar of this false idol. Nevertheless, the media still shows sympathy to these rubes, even though they refuse to change their ways.

Republicans lost the special election to replace George Santos this week, shrinking their already-thin majority in the House. After the results came in, Donald Trump wasted no time in blaming Republicans for not embracing HIM, which he says would have won them the election. He also said that the Party needs to give his MAGA movement the respect it deserves, but all of this is a farce. The Party's extremism, propagated by Trump, is what cost them this election, as Farron explains. 

Also, the first primary debate that Lauren Boebert participated in a few weeks ago was a disaster because she got dumped on the entire time, but at a debate this week, she was further humiliated by being completely ignored. Rather than being relentlessly attacked by her opponents, Boebert was only mentioned once by one candidate, and he didn't even bother to say her name. Her opponents know that she's damaged goods and has little chance of winning, so they aren't even bothering to go after her.

And Marjorie Taylor Greene has found a new thing to be angry about: Larry David. During this past week's episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm, David took shots at MAGA supporters in Georgia and pointed out how backwards state laws are regarding giving water to people waiting to vote. Greene went absolutely ballistic about the episode, and went into a deranged rant on social media expressing her displeasure for the world to see. 

Finally, a lawyer for a capitol rioter that has already pleaded guilty to the charges against him has submitted documents to the judge in the case related to the "insanity plea" and "cult members." The lawyer is attempting to convince the judge that the defendant was swayed and influenced by the "MAGA Cult," and therefore the judge should show some leniency in the sentencing coming up next month. This could actually work, but only if the defendant has shown remorse and understands that they were brainwashed by Trump.

Donald Trump has submitted his official filing to the US Supreme Court, begging them to grant him immunity from any and all criminal prosecutions. And, as usual, he did it in the most juvenile and pathetic way possible. In the filing, Trump had his lawyers whine that he can't go out and meet voters and campaign if he's stuck in a courtroom for a criminal trial - a fact that has no legal basis and isn't a sound argument at all. 

Also, Lindsey Graham got into a heated debate on the senate floor this week, but it wasn't with one of his fellow lawmakers. Instead, Graham decided to have a one-sided argument with a poster that he brought into the Chamber that featured a tweet from the President of Poland who had called out Republicans for losing their way. Graham laid into the poster and came across as a confused, possibly mentally ill old man who had no idea what he was doing.

And Donald Trump and his lawyers had a private, closed-door meeting with Judge Aileen Cannon on Monday, and they outlined their defense strategy to the judge (as they are required to do.) As expected, his lawyers are planning on using the dumbest arguments ever by telling the judge that the documents he stole and shared weren't actually that important, and that some of the information he shared was actually already outdated by the time he was "waving around" the document. 

Finally, Donald Trump appears to be coming to the realization that his lawyers are bleeding him dry. According to a new report, the former president is furious about the fees that his lawyers are charging - especially since they keep losing - and he has actually put a cap in place for how much he's willing to pay them per hour. This cap has been in place for some time, and it actually explains a lot about the caliber of lawyers that he's been able to retain - and why the good ones keep leaving.

 Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz announced before the Super Bowl on Sunday that he wasn't going to allow his wife to watch the game because the game was going to feature the "Black National Anthem" before kickoff. The song, actually called "Lift Every Voice and Sing", has been performed for the past few years at the game, but Gaetz is so angered by the thought of Black people feeling empowered and inspired that he won't allow his wife to enjoy the game.

Also,  Donald Trump has gone completely off the deep end at this point, and he is now trying to take credit for Taylor Swift becoming one of the biggest artists of all time. In a Truth Social post on Sunday, Trump attacked Swift by claiming that a bill he signed is what made her "so much money," and he then said that she would be being "disloyal" to him if she endorsed President Biden. Trump has had in it for Swift since 2018 when she endorsed candidates running against his friends, but he's completely delusional if he thinks he had anything to do with her success.

And thanks to the Special Prosecutor's report, President Biden's mental fitness has been called into question over the past few days. And while there are reasons to be concerned about Biden, they don't stack up against the mental problems that Donald Trump is facing. The Morning Joe crew on MSNBC put together a shocking supercut of all of Trump's gaffes and incoherent ramblings from the past weekend, and there were plenty from just a handful of appearances. Farron Cousins explains why Trump's mental health is a greater concern than Biden's. 

Finally, a group of Donald Trump's allies are about to hold a two-day retreat where they will teach Trump loyalists how to blindly follow Trump's orders if they are to receive a Cabinet post (assuming he wins the election this year.) This is an absolutely terrifying development that deserves far more attention. These people are being groomed to serve as spineless "Yes Men" at Trump's disposal, and will remake the government in any form that he instructs them to do.
